I wish the writers had actually known what to do with her and kept L'Rell after season 2. She has so many interesting contrasts in her character, damn yeah actually monstrous looking tall and (kind of) buff female aliens, and Mary Chieffo is such an amazing actress, I wish she could have developed for all five seasons of Discovery.

Also her chemistry with Katrina Cornwell was through the roof. Also wish they had gotten a little enemies to lovers sapphic romance.

But this is my biggest problem with Discovery generally; they introduce so many fascinating characters, only to then kill them off or otherwise do nothing with them.

Prisoner Zero - Katrina Cornwell/L'Rell

A/N: Day 5 part 1 for @startrekfemslashweek

Kol had insisted that the woman they had taken prisoner should bleed for her Federation’s tactics. Once upon a time L’Rell knew she would have agreed… she no longer agreed, so when Katrina shudders at her touch, she speaks in a low murmur, promising the woman safety as long as she plays into L’Rell’s plans. It's only later, far later, that Katrina learns she had been taken prisoner to make a point to the Federation. She’s saved only when L’Rell fakes what happened between them. Once they are found by her team, she insists on bringing L’Rell with her. Sleep is hard even when she has healed, the comfort of L’Rell’s soft and grumbly tone puts her at ease enough she can rest, L’Rell barely hiding her smile when Katrina is finally asleep. She had known even when the woman was taken prisoner that she would fight for her… now she is allowed to watch a woman at rest, even when unease should be her main emotion.
