With the initiation of this administration's own unconstitutional war, it is now clear to me that the mainstream left in this country has no semblance of anti-war principles left. My only consolation Election Day was that we could finally welcome back the anti-war left. This weekend I realized I cannot expect principled anti-war advocacy from any partisans. At least the right admits to its ambivalence over murdering civilians. My disdain for the left comes from its feigned empathy, pussy hats, and White-Peace Corps-Global North-cishet feminism. If your politics are purely aesthetic and you'd trade the lives of children in the Third World for your "fair trade" coffee most days, I don't give a fuck if you were With Her. If you can't be anti war even when a Republican is in office, you have no claim to liberalism and you have blood on your hands, as far as I'm concerned.

My lats have ripped a few dresses and I can't really wear crop tops anymore. My only suiting that still fits are jackets that used to be too big and pants with spandex. I feel uncomfortable in most of the formalwear I would've bought off the rack in high school. I've gained about 15lbs since freshman year of college. And my relationship with myself and my body has never been better. I want a bigger squat more than I want to look good in pants and I want a big deadlift more than I want to wear spaghetti straps. I worked really fucking hard to get here. When I was a teenager, I desperately wanted to be tall because I wanted to wear Cheap Monday jeans--being a size 0 didn't change that. Getting fucking strong did.

I just had this conversation with a friend of mine on facebook. I love Bernie Sanders and want him to be our nominee, but it’s important to remember: When they were in the senate together, Clinton and Sanders voted the same way 93% of the time. That 7% does make a difference, but not so big a difference that I’d risk a Trump presidency.

I honestly have to second the last comment on this.  I’m so used to the South being a bastion of racism and other grossness, it’s so good to see a Southerner calling people on their shit.

Southerners call this shit out constantly, but it isn't attributed to us if we fail to conform to stereotypes. It's a gif, so I don't know what dialect this guy is speaking, but it's not entirely clear that he's southern. New York and Pennsylvania have "rednecks," too. Not all "rednecks" are southern and not all southerners are "rednecks." I also think it's worth noting that people are over eager to criticize these dialects as indicative of ignorance themselves as soon as they disagree with them, which needs to stop.

But on the substantive issue, the civil rights movement was primarily a saga of southern resistance. Specifically, the Bible Belt, precisely because the strongest resistance rises to meet the strongest oppression. Nowadays, we see this farther north, like Philly and Maryland. There is outcry and resistance wherever there is oppression, but you have to listen.

Why do you think there is a lot of libertarian hate on Tumblr?

I will take responsibility for ~50% of it but I think the other 50% is for roughly the same reasons, which is that so many white libertarian cismen are dismissive of the very real information problem they experience with respect to everyone else's experiences and are, as a result, not respectful of the fact that others' experiences are valid, even if they lead them to "illogical" conclusions.
