Secret Alliance AU

After over a month of just trying to edit this thing, the first chapter is FINALLY uploaded! It's not much but honestly I'm very proud of how the rest of the story is turning out! The whole premise is basically "What happens if Jones reaches out to the 7 earlier in the story?"

So, through anonymous messages, he feeds them information to help them thwart the IO! (and maybe makes some friends along the way!) This will be a long story(for me anyway. I'm using it as practice to get more comfortable finishing and lengthening some of my work!) (It was also an excuse to make backstories for the 7! and to make the Foundation say "The Legend", or "Legend" as many times as possible.)

Given that there's a whole Shen Jiu specific part of the fandom, it baffles me that tianjiu isn't more popular. Like this man's entire type is 'emotionally repressed beautiful cultivator' and you think he wouldn't take one look at shen jiu and crank up the seduction to twelve.

And Shen Jiu who has abandonment issues on top of his showing healthy affection issues, wouldn't look at an extremely clingy, freely affectionate demon and reluctantly see him as a light in the darkness.

Like I blame qijiu for being such a 'fated soulmates' couple but I love the tianjiu dynamic. Or zhujiu but tbh I like zhuzhi-lang for shen yuan a lot more.

Give the man a dorky demon husband, he deserves it.

(Also Shen Jiu affection perfectly lines up with traditional demon affection so I feel like he'd just have a small trail of accidentally seduced demons trailing behind him and we need to capitalise off that more as a fandom)

Heterosexual relationship culture is so alien to me and I don’t know if it’s the fact I’m not cishet or the fact I’m autistic but I hear so many things that make me go “Am I insane or are they?”

There’s a lot of hate on widowers and I saw a woman say “You cannot compete with a dead woman.” which is perhaps a reasonable statement to say if he’s constantly comparing you to his dead partner but that wasn’t what the post was about. And I realized “Oh my God, these people genuinely feel like they’re constantly in competition with their spouse’s exes and the ex being dead makes them feel insecure that they cannot best her.”

There’s also been an uptick in the ‘men and women cannot be ‘just’ friends’ rhetoric which I feel like is extremely dangerous and reflects the rise of fascism and sexism. Some of these stories of women feeling threatened by their husband’s female best friend have some merit and others are like “I feel angry that my husband still talks to the girl he grew up next door to and she and her wife are invited to family gatherings and included in family photos sometimes. Am I right to be suspicious?” No. No you’re not. I cannot imagine being you and living with that high level of stress and paranoia and constant torment and jealousy about your husband having a positive relationship with anyone who isn’t you.
