A little about myself
Hey guys! I just wanted to take some time to tell y’all a little about myself.
My name is Dakota Lynn Bliss and I arrived on September 15, 1996. I was an only child all the way until 4th grade when my dad told me there is a possibility that I have a older half brother. Like 19 years older. I was shocked yet so pissed at my parents. I found out he actually lived with my dad and mom most of his life. My dad even paid child support until he was 18. Also, my dad won’t let me really communicate with him and still to this day has his doubts about it. But deep down he loves my brother. I don’t blame my mom because it wasn’t her fault. She wasn’t even in the picture when he was born. Its not her place to tell me when its my dad’s son. But other than that were a happy little family!
Growing up an only child, I guess you could say I was spoiled. The only think my parents wouldn’t let me have was a kitten. Now everybody that knows me knows I love animals. So this broke my little heart. So my parents felt so bad they talked me into getting a puppy. But they told me I couldn’t have one with fur but one with hair. And right around Christmas I got my first puppy, Ozzy. Ozzy is a white toy poodle. He is super smart and has a bit of an attitude. My mom would eventually come to realize that she would spoil Ozzy so rotten, he things he’s above me in life. In 5th grade, we got Ozzy a little friend, Harriett, the teacup poodle. We rescued her from a puppy mill where she sat in her own waste for the first three months of her life. Her and her siblings stayed in a dark room all day everyday. After about a week after we got her, we found out that the puppy mill she came from got shut down and the owner was arrested for 264 counts of animal abuse. Harriett is considered a special needs dog because she has bad hips from not getting enough nutrients when she was first born. She has mild arthritis and severe anxiety. But she has grown attached to my family and especially Ozzy!
I am a junior in high school at a private school called Manchester Academy. All during junior high, I played basketball and ran track; but when I was a sophomore, I decided to give up sports to focus more on school work. Besides, its not like I was a baller or anything! MA is where I met my best friend, Ashlyn. She transferred from another school from the next county over. I also have another best friend that I had since 5K. Her name is Brooke. We kinda didn’t speak all through elementary school or JH but we are now close as ever!
In 8th grade my life changed. On May 2nd, 2011, we found out we were gonna have to evacuate our home for a flood that the government was releasing in the delta to save the big cities. It wasn’t for certain that our house was going under but we still had to leave. Ten days later we moved out and stayed with my grandmother. Two days later we went back and found our house the first one in Yazoo county visble from the open road, underwater. 3 days after that, they closed all of the delta. You couldnt get in. About that time, we had to move out of my grandmothers. We lived in our car for a while. All the storage bills and other expenses added up. We soon ran out of money. We had no home. We were desperate. Fema finally contacted us and said we could live in one of there cottages. We were relieved and thanful for this. We lived there for about six months and then we bought a new home in the hills. And this Christmas will be 2 years that we moved here.
I know this is a lot to read but I just want y’all to know that I know what its like. Amd when I was going through this, all I wanted was someone to tell this to. Someone that was there and would never judge and never tell anybody. Amd I want to be that person. I care when nobody else does. Even if you think its stupid, just message me or KIK me. I understand. Really. Love you guys♥♥♥
Hello everybody!
My name is Dakota Bliss! I'm from a small town in Mississippi called Yazoo. Coming from a very religious part of the United States, I understand how it feels not to be socially acceptable in a community that is not very liberal. My goal is to be an inspiration for the gay/lesbian/bi community and for other teens that have a hard time expressing their lives. I, myself, am not lesbian or bisexual but I do understand how society treats them. I will try to blog everyday I possibly can.
