As the title says. I'm a RWBY Fanfiction author by the alias TheDarkenedRose. Some of you guys may have read my works (most popular one being "The Blackening Rose"), and this is another way of seeing how stupid I am when not doing any of the shit I produce.

Thank you... It’s hard for some of us, who write so much to make people happy, since there are those that have “standards” and hate us for the things we write for. I will continue writing the RWBY fanfiction I write (even if I don’t like the show itself, anymore. The world itself is truly remarkable, and the characters are full of potential in terms of development), and continue to give people a reason to enjoy their day... even if it was a difficult one. :)

Welcome back to RWBY Secret Santa! Last year was quite a success, so here we are again!

For those who don’t know what a secret santa is, here’s how it will work:

Those who want to participate will have to fill in this form HERE with their details, such as name/email address and favourite characters and ships, things to help people with ideas for their gift. (If you think something is missing from the form, please let me know ASAP so I can add to it.)

After the deadline, you will be given the details of another participant, and you are to make them a gift! And vice versa, you will receive a gift from someone else (it will not be the same person you are gifting to.)

If you want to send nice messages in the lead up to Christmas, or subtly ask for more hints as to what the would like to receive, go for it! But make sure to do it anonymously. The person you are gifting must not know you are their secret santa!

As there was quite a delay in getting the form posted (my apologies) the deadline for submissions will be December 7th (or if you think you might need longer, please let me know). However I will start pairing up and sending out details to your email from December 1st onwards, this is so people can start working on their gifts as soon as they can, so be sure to check your email (gifts can and should be posted between Dec 24th and Jan 3rd)

When you are ready to post your gift (fanfic, fanart, edits, etc) make sure you tag your giftee and tag it with #rwbysecretsanta or #rwby secret santa

Red Snowflakes, A WR Fanfic I Made Long Ago...

A Nervous and Shy Rose

I haven’t really done an “out of the closet” post in a long time… But after recent events that involved my actions, I felt it would be… well something that can help those I care about understand me more…

I tend to forget that I’m just a nervous person. This comes to realization when I date someone… I can’t really be romantic because I’m nervous of fucking up somehow. And somehow… I still fuck up by the actions I’ve been making this year. I ended up making friends pissed… especially the ones that I’m closest to. Some of them are going through depression and my actions just seem to make things worse. I don’t want to be the root cause of worsening my friend’s depression. The only way I can be helpful… or even give a sliver of hope to them… is just by doing this… typing out digital letters and linking a video of music that helps me through hard times.

I’m sorry for fucking up sometimes this year… all I just want is for you to be happy and not deal with someone like me. Like I said before… I’m just a nervous person… I can’t really do face to face. I just… suck at it. But I still want to help… and have your back. So I Helped a Girl Gamer in BF4 Today

Played Battlefield 4 on PC today, I was put in a squad on Conquest where a girl gamer was getting harassed by two of our squad mates. I told them to stop but they didn’t so I changed teams and only went for them which actually went well. I harassed them so badly that they rage quited, I switched back to my old team and squad and told the gamer. “They won’t be messing with you again.” She thanked me, I tipped my imaginary cap and left the match. Best 35 minutes of my time in Battlefield ever.

Damn... it's been a while since something like this happened to me. I'm hoping that I'll be able to help people like this, again, but in other games than just Battlefield. :) It felt awesome to just help those that need it.

Paypal Invoicing: Seller Beware

There’s been a lot of posts going around lately about Paypal and their policy on fees, and I’ve seen a lot of people suggesting you move to invoices. What you might not realise unless you have a closer look at these payments once you receive them, is that Paypal is expecting you to ship an item. This remains the same regardless of whether you use the default form, the ‘services’ form and charge by the hour, and whether you put 0.00 in the postage section.

After a call to customer service this morning, I have confirmed there is actually no option on invoices for a seller to indicate that postage is not required if you are invoicing from the main paypal website (ie. you don’t do paypal checkout through your website, there may be a work around if you have a purchase button on your website, which isn’t entirely practical for commissions as prices can often vary and most do payments through the site directly). This means that if you don’t provide shipping / tracking information on that payment, Paypal may freeze the funds and/or your account.

Apparently the way to avoid this is to include in the notes section of the invoice that the invoice is for goods and services, and that no shipping is required. 

They also said that the buyer should indicate in the notes when they pay that they have received the goods/service, however this is going to cause issues with commissions as most are either paid upfront or partway through. 

If anyone has any further solution to this, reblog and or message me, but otherwise this has been a PSA about Paypal invoicing. Seller beware.

But also to choose this option when the payment has been sent and the commission has been completed 

So it can be counted as complete.

Man, good thing I didn't announce me taking a few commissions this weekend. My internet has been out since Thursday and it's not coming back up til Monday. Though I think I will take fanfic commissions sometime this week or next week. It's going to be my first time so it might be like 2 or 3 commissions that I'm taking.
