Besides this being a classic Americana song about watching baseball, this song has a cavalier casualness about passively rooting for a team but not caring too much who wins. Schlatt was one of the first people on qsmp 2 with Max talking about taking down the Federation. He warned Katie about Cucurucho the very first week. But he doesn't actively bother to fight the Federation. Schlatt hopes his friends win, but he's pretty apathetic about the whole thing, caring not to escape and building a life for himself on this island.
Also fun fact this song is about someone named Katie.

He's not heartless, he helps those around him such as Katie's chicken fiasco on the KFC opening, but he likes to act like he's heartless, it's what he tells himself. It's how he stays safe and successful.
His little suburbia is the only place he belongs. Maybe Katie is there or someone drops by, but mostly he's alone. No one is home but him and his cats.

Perhaps a little ironic to put right after a song about conformity, but I'm afraid this song fits every Schlatt character (I was tempted to put That's Life by Frank Sinatra too but we don't know enough about q!Schlatt and his past for me to put it here). He is doing it his own way. He's not joining any nations or kowtowing to the Federation. He does exactly what he plans to do and he stays true to himself.
