A/N: Takes place in the same universe as Letters from the Other Side. Part of Drabble Challenge 2024.

It’s been six years since the Rumbling.

The Ackerman home feels full. A babbling child can be heard and the smell of something delicious wafts through the house.

“It’s like a damn circus in here,” Levi mutters, eyeing the toys scattered all over. His gaze shifts to the source of the babbling, but his expression softens as your daughter bursts into fits of giggles.

“Yeah, I look funny to you?” He picks her up, her hand meeting his scarred cheek with fascination.

You smile, hand resting on your pregnant stomach. “Dinner’s almost ready.”

Despite his grumbling stomach, Levi feels full.

Megumi sat quietly against the tree trunk, eyes closed, as your lips pressed urgently against his own. Your body perched atop his lap, legs wrapped securely around his waist.

“Someone could see.” He mumbles but his protests fall flat as his hands move from your waist and underneath your sweater.

Your lips hover above his momentarily as you tilt your head. “Do you want me to stop?”

He sighs, fingers digging into the skin of your hips. "No," he breathed out, your hum of satisfaction the only sound as his hands explored your body, lips pressing to yours once more.

“Hey, has anyone ever given you a nickname?”

“No.”

Levi turns on his pillow, watching you.

You seem half-asleep. “M’gonna call you… beloved when we’re alone, m’kay?”

At that, Levi’s breath catches. “… Huh?”

“Beloved. Because that’s what… you—” A yawn. “—are to me.”

And then you’re asleep.

Levi, on the other hand, is now wide awake. His heart drums wildly.

Beloved… is he really?

Shit, it sounds so cheesy, he ought to tell you. But… he also liked the way it rolled off your tongue, liked that you bestowed it on him.

Fine.

Levi supposes there’s... worse things to be called.

Although the ring is too large for your finger, you can't help but wiggle your hand with fondness. In the dim warm light, its shiny gold gleams.

"I can hear you thinking, kitten."

Your back rumbles from baritone as you lay between his legs.

"It's just…"

"Too big?" Sylus finishes, humming low. "I've heard that before."

When you turn with a glare, dark amusement flickers in his eyes.

"You can't get mad at your own words. Besides--"

He lowers his chin to kiss your forehead.

"--now I know gold looks perfect on you for when I find the real deal."

"You know..." You drawl on the sentence, a mischievous smirk quirking your lips as your gaze shifts down to his clothed crotch.

Realization dawns on Levi a second later, but before you can laugh, a pillow hits your face.

"Hey!" Protest slips off and you shoot him a glare. "What was that for?"

He scowls, "So that you can get your head out of the gutter."

"Come on," you chuckle, inching closer to him, "Its for research purposes."

To which, he doesn't even cast you a glance. Instead, "Stop mingling with Hanji."

Drabble challenge 2024 | Day 3: Unhealthy character: bakugou katsuki

"One more."

"I can't," you pant. "I feel lightheaded."

"That's what you get for not hitting the gym enough."

"Working out isn't the answer to everything!"

"It sure is to that unhealthy lifestyle of yours." You roll your eyes. "And didn't you say you wanted a rounder ass?"

"I did," you pout, yelping when Katsuki pinches your butt. "Stop, someone will see."

"So what? You're my fucking wife," he shouts.

"Shut up!"

His mischievous eyes and lopsided grin tell you he won't stop unless you comply, so with a sigh you get in position and brave through another set of squats.

Your midwife puts the cold stethoscope to your belly as you lay on your bed. You usually have these checkups alone, but Levi insisted he be here.

“I have some questions”, he’d said.

And he really did. Questions about what you should be eating and drinking, how many hours you should be sleeping each night, and what to do about the sudden discomfort in your abdomen you’d been feeling lately.

(How did he know about that?)

“And is there anything unhealthy we should be avoiding right now?”

Drabble Challenge 2024 - Day 22 // Steam

Levi x Reader

With a groan, Levi eased into the steaming bath you’d run for him. Scented salts replaced the smell of blood and metal as he submerged himself.

You turned away to hide a smile at the way his wet bangs stuck to his forehead, but he caught your arm and pulled you down to sit on the tub’s edge. He pressed a washcloth into your hand, guided it to his chest.

Levi closed his eyes as you dragged it down the lean slope of his body, softening under your touch. He pressed a kiss to your soapy fingertips in silent gratitude.
