“To porcelain, to ivory, to steel” is a Sansa quote that gets touted a lot but people don’t often talk about the specific comparisons George chooses to make. Porcelain, prized and protected inherently because of its fragile nature, pretty but precarious. Ivory, stronger yes but kept as a trophy of slaughter against an innocent creature. Steel, forged of two materials and stronger than both of its individual parts.

team black vs team green: why the blacks were the only ones who deserved the throne

first of all, rhaenyra was named heir. by her father. publicly. multiple times. the realm knew it. and yet, the greens refused to accept a woman ruling, no matter what law or blood said. misogyny wrote the “both sides are bad” narrative just to hide that ugly truth.

alicent? born with a silver spoon and a poison tongue. she didn’t just sit pretty, she plotted. weaponized her sons to tear down rhaenyra’s claim. she fed the flames of war with every breath. call her a victim if you want, but she chose this war. she lit the entire kingdom on fire for her thirst for power.

criston cole? please. the orange man was an ego-driven jealous man-child. the “kingmaker” who shattered the kingdom because he couldn’t handle rhaenyra being more than a pretty face.

aegon? a drunk frat boy shoved on a throne he never earned. he didn’t want the crown, he just wanted to play king until the fighting bored him or ended.

here’s the truth:

justifying harmful traits by historical context doesn’t erase the harm. it glorifies it. it repackages violence into aesthetics.

a headcanon isn’t neutral when it makes abuse look poetic. when you start labeling cruelty as romantic tension, that’s not interpretation, that’s delusion.

and if you think fiction doesn’t impact reality? wake up.

fiction shapes empathy. it influences what we accept, what we excuse, what we desire.

some of us acknowledge a character’s darkness without falling in love with it. that’s the difference between understanding and idolizing.

stop defending toxicity because you think it’s edgy. you’re not profound for loving a man who would’ve spat in your face, you’re just lost in the fantasy you built around him.
