It’s so fucked up how tiktok culture has made clout-poisoned people turn the public into content, every day I see people minding their business have their entire faces put online for thousands of likes, a couple kissing on the train, a lady dancing across a cross walk, a guy nodding his head to the music at a club, a lady buying a banana at the store, ring camera footage of the neighbors kids being stupid. Just let people live jfc
I think I may have made it seem like this is about wholesome content (which my sentiment towards that is the same) but most of the time when I see this stuff people are being ridiculed for being completely normal. And I didn’t make up any of these examples btw, I couldn’t find the dance one but only because there are too many videos of people being recorded at cross walks
(Faces censored and additional text added by me)
Im gonna add this to every post about this i see im never gonna shut up about it. This will get people killed. This will ruin lives. More people live in hiding than you think. So many people are one post away from having to abandon their whole lives. Dont ever post anything of anyone without their consent, stranger or not.
The Muppet Show (1976), “Vincent Price”
being poor is traumatic. even if you’re not homeless or starving. never being able to get anything nice for yourself, never being able to go out to eat without feeling guilty, never being able to do anything fun that isn’t free, making you housebound in bad weather because you can’t afford to go to a cafe or a movie. it takes a toll. being poor under capitalism makes your life a waking nightmare. this post must be reblogged by everyone.
Addendum: If perchance you do scrape up the money to do something (say buy a computer or phone because you absolutely need the damn thing for work), you get shamed for doing so. “Why did you buy that expensive phone if you are poor?” I spent 20 dollars on it …. “What about that nice computer you got there?” I bought it six years ago, refurbished for about $250. “How about that big ole television you got there?” etc, etc, etc. No matter how poor you are, so many people think you should have less if you are “actually” poor.
There’s no two ways about it: poverty is violence.
Also, even if you get out of poverty, the scars remain in the way you handle your money, your carefulness, your frugality, your constant waiting for the day when it all gets taken away again. You need to have back-ups, contingencies, savings, even at the cost of being kind to yourself and treating yourself in the here and now.
Healthcare. :v
“Is it not violent for a child to go to bed hungry in the richest country in the world? I think that is violent. But that type of violence is so institutionalised that it becomes a part of our way of life.”

too much, too little | jjk | m | drabble
[ ! ] this is a drabble for bad influence. You can read it as a stand-alone.
— summary; in which you’re always trying to keep up with Jungkook, especially when he goes from one extreme to the other.
— contents and warnings; so much smut, pwp, fluff, two different smut scenes!!, badboy!jungkook x goodgirl!reader, enemies to lovers, secret relationship, dirty talk, sex in front of a mirror, unprotected sex (don’t.), creampie, cockwarming, overstimulation, tit play, squirting 😳, forced orgasm, multiple orgasms, praise kink, dom!jk x sub!reader, mentions of cum stuffing, jk has insane stamina lol; for the other scene we have pretty soft sex!!!, so no major warnings besides being whipped 🕺
— words; 2,7k
— author’s note; oh the duality of men… inspiring. The timeline is after bad romance for both scenes, during summer break.
~
Some days, you couldn’t keep up with Jungkook.
Ever since the first time you two slept together (under less than ideal circumstances), you could tell that there was something else burning at the edge of his touches; something fiery, needy, always on edge. He kissed you like it would never be enough, held you closer tightly, exploring your body like he both wanted to worship and ruin it. It was an insubstantial warning, something that took its time before it materialized into reality and, yet, it was there — an insatiable whisper at the back of his mind, just waiting to strike.
The closer you two got, the more it showed, but it was only after you made it official that Jungkook actually let himself go. Regardless of the intensity that he showed, it was a rare occurrence — under very specific moments, very specific words. Something just clicked inside his head and made him realize that he would never get enough of you — and, yet, he should still try to.

Really happy to see this at my local library
OOOOH. *happy YA librarian dance*
I want this in every library, everywhere. After all, some kids won’t even google this stuff because they don’t want parents/siblings checking their browser history.
This is really awesome. And if you’re not familiar with how the Dewey Decimal system works - the numbers subject-based, which means these numbers are applicable in EVERY library. So if you see something you want to research on this list - look for those same numbers in any of your local libraries.
This is wonderful.
Reblogging to possibly save a life
Rebloging for each and every life that might be saved, or even improved.
Do you like enemies to lovers because it’s hot or do you like enemies to lovers because you think of yourself as unlovable & unworthy of love and therefore like the idea of someone seeing all the worst in you right away and still falling in love with you anyways
This. Is. Me.
Please reblog if you think that “they/them/theirs” is a valid set of pronouns.
Of course they are
France has always and I mean ALWAYS had a history of Islamophobia...but, for those of you who don’t know what’s going on right now:
They’re trying to ban the slaughter of Halal chicken, citing animal cruelty and claiming Halal (I believe they also discussed Kosher) methods of slaughter are unethical compared to the European practice of stunning the animal (the Halal way of slaughter would be a cut to the jugular vein so that the animal feels no pain).
They then proceeded to ban the wearing of the Hijab (the Muslim headscarf) for girls under 18 in public places.
They also banned Hijabi mothers (women who wear the Hijab) from accompanying their child on school field trips.
Furthermore, they banned the Burkini (a swimsuit that a lot of Muslim women wear) at public swimming pools.
These restrictions (I have definitely not covered a lot of them) fall under France’s Separatism Bill which still needs to be passed by the National Assembly. France maintains that these actions are to uphold secularism (the separation of religion and state).
However, these targeted laws and the statements accompanying them...
The Hijab ban was the “prohibition in the public space of any conspicuous religious sign by minors and of any dress or clothing which would signify an interiorization of women over men.” This is a commonly used trope about Islam and Muslim men; that they are oppressive of women which is absolutely not true...take it from a Muslim woman! 🧕🏽
Emmanuel Macron said that Hijab is “not in accordance with French ideals”. This again alludes to the misconception that Hijab is oppressive and that by taking it away, we are liberating women. I don’t deny that there are women who had Hijab forced upon them, but what France is not acknowledging is that the forcing of any religious action upon people is completely the opposite of Islamic teachings and that there are actually women out there who can make decisions about what they want to wear...Surprise! It may come as a bit of a shock to them...
...just showcase how deeply rooted these laws are in Islamophobia and how France is maximizing restrictions on daily Muslim life just to...be a white saviour?
There are five million Muslims in France right now and they are all being affected by this.
Honoring the lives lost in the Atlanta shooting
Xiaojie 'Emily' Tan, 49
Tan, 49, was the mother of Jami Webb, a recent graduate from the University of Georgia. She was a licensed massage therapist and the owner of Young’s Asian Massage, along with other businesses in the area, including another spa and a tanning salon, according to state records. She was “the sweetest, most kind-hearted, giving, never-met-a-stranger person,” a friend told Atlanta’s WSB-TV. Just one day away from her 50th birthday when she was killed, according to USA Today, Tan was described by her daughter as thoughtful, devoted to her family, and looking forward to traveling in her retirement.
Hyun Jung Grant, 51
Hyun Jung Grant was a Korean immigrant who worked at Atlanta’s Gold Spa. Her son Randy Park, 23, shared a tribute to his mother on GoFundMe: He said his mother was a single parent who “dedicated her whole life to providing for my brother and I.” She loved dancing and sushi, according to Park, who told The Daily Beast, “She wasn’t just my mother. She was my friend.” Park, who now has to raise his brother alone, is not buying law-enforcement officials’ suggestion that the attack was motivated by a supposed sex addiction, not racism. “That’s bullshit,” he said.
Delaina Ashley Yaun Gonzalez, 33
Yaun Gonzalez, 33, was a mother of two — 13-year-old Mayson and 8-month-old Mia. She had worked all day on Tuesday at the Waffle House a few shops down from Tan’s spa business. She had been looking forward to having a relaxing night out with her husband, Mario Gonzalez, whom she married only last year, and the couple had reportedly never been to Young’s Asian Massage before. According to Fox 5 Atlanta, family members say that Mario Gonzalez, who survived the shooting, is “taking [the situation] hard.” Delaina Ashley Yaun Gonzalez’s friends and family have set up a GoFundMe to address her funeral costs.
Paul Andre Michels, 54
Michels, 54, was a handyman at Young’s Asian Massage and the owner of an electric company. He was only recently hired for the role and excited to take it on after looking for more work during the pandemic, according to a friend who spoke with CBS46. An army veteran originally from Detroit, Michels is one of nine siblings and is survived by his wife of more than two decades. In an interview with the Guardian, his brother John Michels emphasized his kindness. “He was just a regular guy, very good-hearted, very soft-natured,” he said, while noting that Michels had expressed an interest in getting involved in the massage business.
Yong Ae Yue, 63
A licensed massage therapist, she was laid off at the start of the pandemic last year and was excited to finally start shifts at the spa again, her son Elliott Peterson, 42, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Friday morning. Yue’s youngest child, Robert Peterson, 38, agreed, recalling their mother as a kind and deeply caring woman. If you stopped by her house, she’d sit you down, ask if you’d eaten, and then insist on a trip to H Mart grocery store so she could make a meal.
Daoyou Feng, 44
Daoyou Feng, 44, began working at Young’s Asian Massage in recent months, according to Tan’s friend Hynson. She was kind and quiet, he said. Her relatives could not be reached for comment.
Soon Chung Park, 74
Soon Chung Park, 74, was also a worker at an Atlanta spa. Her family didn’t respond when reached for comment. Park previously lived in New York, where she has relatives, her son-in-law, Scott Lee, told the New York Times. “She got along with her family so well,” Lee told the newspaper.
Suncha Kim, 69
Suncha Kim, 69, worked at one of the spas in Atlanta. Her family could not be reached for comment. Kim, a grandmother, was married for more than 50 years, a family member told the Times. She enjoyed line dancing and worked hard, the relative said.
Elcias Hernandez-Ortiz, 30
Hernandez-Ortiz, 30, was the only survivor of the victims who were shot on Tuesday, and he remains hospitalized for multiple gunshot wounds in his “forehead, throat, lungs and stomach,” according to the Washington Post. He was shot while standing outside in the shopping center where Young’s Asian Massage is located. “He came from nothing and has come a long way; that is why I have faith he will survive this,” his wife Flor Gonzalez told the Washington Post. Gonzalez has also set up a GoFundMe to help with the costs of Hernandez-Ortiz’s medical care.
If it helps it helps
I swear to god I will never forget my sister unpacking her stuff from that big black trash bag when she moved in with us. JFC. She never complained or said anything but I remember. I remember clothes and journals and little bits and bobs spilling onto the carpet because she couldn’t really keep it closed. I remember and it wasn’t even my life.
Please donate your luggage to foster kids and any kid you know who may have to leave home but isn’t officially in the system (because they’re out there too). Anything you can do matters.
"Don't take it to Goodwill" is good advice in general, but yeah.
Also you can donate your old cell phones to domestic violence places.
Can anyone actually say “I love you” in their first language? Like is that real?
it feels insincere and light in english but in my native language it feels like someone is pulling the earth out from underneath my feet, like i have a lump in my throat
