Can I just say that the product placement in just the first 6 minutes really gives Truman show. Clear shot of the brand of doughnuts. Clear shot of the pop tarts that Dustin was short for with no consequence. The Jaws poster where you actually cant see the text which is strange because you can see the text on most of the assets. Just. Strange. Unsettling.

WHY DO THEY HAVE A SHOT OF GOING FROM THE REAL WORLD TO THE ANIMATED ONE IN THE SAME WAY THAT THEY GO FROM THE REAL WORLD TO THE UPSIDE DOWN? The show doesnt start in the upside down. That sequence? With the guy flame throwing the demo (Reference to that one commercial where Nancy is flame throwing demos)? Its not in the upside down. So why did it flip? As far as we know, this show is 100% canon to the original universe. So why is it acting like its an alternative universe?

Wait I just watched that first 6 minutes of tales from 85 to see what people were talking about

It makes no fucking sense

One, Mike is paranoid about being late... when he's always late for everything. So much so that Lucas calls him out on it and tells him to calm down. Also Max is flirting with Lucas? Idk. That line felt off to me. Like something she'd never say. ALSO why is Karen giving Mike a bag of doughnuts? Karen tells him to eat breakfast and he declines, so the bag of doughnuts isnt for his breakfast, but Karen also doesnt know about El or Hopper atp. So. For why? And why the hell is Mike giving Hop anything? Michael Wheeler could give two shits what Hop thinks of him most of the time UNLESS Hop is threatening him LIKE he did in season 3 which make Mike all weird around El for a while but here Mike just takes it and tries to please him with doughnuts? ???

ALSO away from Mike WHY is Dustin apparently always a dollar short? The Hendersons dont have money problems. The Byers' do. And the weird focus on the "smile, youre on camera"? Whattttttt the fuck. Also where's Joyce? We see Karen and Hop but not Joyce?
