Do you ever plan to finish the paid commissions you never did? It's quite disingenuous to ghost for months/years then sporadically poke your head out on social media and changing discord statuses like you didn't do that.

You're right. I have my reasons, but you're right in that I didn't handle them with any sort of tact. I'll give the short answer right now- If I owe you anything, please message me and I'll get back to work on it as soon as I am able. I know of one person I owe a commission but only one, so if there are others I am missing I sincerely apologize. The long answer- I came back to social media every time I believed I would be ready, only to not be ready. My health has severely declined in a way that effects my energy and my fingers and wrists. I got diagnosed sometime earlier this year with some pretty severe Rheumatoid Arthritis. It attacks my joints, causes swelling and inflammation which affects how much energy I have, and the pain has been a massive issue in my life. Every time I would try to come back online, I was thinking that I WOULD come back and start drawing and working again, only to get a flair up soon after. It's only been recently, VERY recently, that there has been any improvement in my condition and I'm still having to manage symptoms. So, I am so, so sorry. I wasn't trying to ghost. But I should have contacted people and let them know what was going on, as I understand what I did was NOT at all the right thing to do. I'm in a state right now where I'm trying to get back to drawing, so I'd be happy to work on yours or anyone else's com if you would let me. I appreciate your patience and again, I apologize.

EMERGENCY COMMISSIONS

Hi! I'll try to make this short.

I'm moving out in June, not by choice. I always had a bad relationship with my landlady and this time, the law is on her side so I have to go by the end of the month. This time, I can't fight back.

I already found a new apartment, thankfully. But the reality of the situation is that everything is a lot more expensive these days. I'm specifically talking about apartments. I hate asking for help, but I absolutely need help right now. I've been jobless for quite some time and I didn't need this. I have two cats and their well being is my top priority.

If you think butches get more pressure to be masculine than feminine, I am begging you to actually talk to a butch. It's really beautiful with all sort of extinct (Thylacine! <3 ) or endangered animals! It looks old but is actually from the 90's!

It's really gorgeous and even more in real life! I love going there just to watch it! I have a video but I can't upload it at the moment!

I think one of the things that bugs me about the way people ship Ford in Fidd/author and Bill/Ford, and Stan with Fidd/Stan and Stan/Ocs is that a lot of times, since the artist or writer is focused on their ship, they more often than not cut out any inclusion of one brother or the other And to me, cutting off either brother means you don't have a good grip on their characters. There's so much evidence from word-of-mouth Alex to all the myriads of details in the show and books to show that Stan was always, always, and will always think about Ford, have him in his heart like a promise or in his side like a thorn. And Ford? Holy shit Ford has complex feelings around Stan, but there's so much evidence to show that he never stopped thinking about him. Wrote a secret message saying he missed him in the back wall of the dorm he shared with Fiddle in him and his brother's secret code language... Took pictures of Stan WITH HIM into Gravity Falls and then had one on his person when he went through the portal. Even when he was angry at Stan, he still believed there was some relationship there as evidence by the intact swing set in his dreams, even when he was a guy who was too focused on being a hero to see past his ego, he still thought of Stan. He still needed him in his own ways. Pretending like either of them don't keep the other on the mind, erasing the fact that they were both an integral and always present part of each other's lives in one way or another, or SEPERATING THEM so you can ship them and ignoring that Ford basically said he would dedicate the rest of his life to his brother at the end of Journal three isn't just misunderstanding their characters, it's just blatantly not getting the point. I don't know who these "Ford"s and "Stan"s are that you all have been playing with but I watch Gravity Falls, sorry.

the human-faced bear principle of storytelling: the amount of people who will remember the exposition about the rules of magic or the history of elf culture inherently pales in comparison to the amount of people who will remember the scene where someone gets mauled by a bear with a human face

this isn't a call to necessarily include a literal bear with a human face (though you should at least consider it. obviously.) but pointing out that, while a lot of sf/f writing advice places heavy emphasis on fleshing out the small details of a fictional world as much as possible, there's often little attention given to the value of including effective "bear attack scenes", for lack of a better term; tense, scary, shocking, weird, or otherwise visceral scenes or concepts (the pale man, the chestburster, the sunken place, the raptors in the kitchen, artax in the swamp, the annihilation bear, the basement in parasite, the blood test in the thing, etc) despite those having a significantly higher hit rate of making a story striking and memorable to people
