Stars. A million, billion, trillion stars falling like snow on Christmas Eve, shiny and bright and hopeful because nobody expected snow this Christmas, yet here it is, secretly blanketing the damp, cold earth as a surprise for all the children in the morning. Nobody expected the stars to fall either, because that’s just not right, but they taste like spun sugar and dust Sneaky’s cheeks until he looks like he glows from the inside out. He laughs once. Twice. Wipes off the stars from his visor with a gloved hand to see this glorious, terrible, beautiful mess. “This isn’t right.” He breathes. Jensen’s teeth are sharp as he grins lazily, bobbing just outside the corner of Sneaky’s vision. “That’s always what you earthlings say. It’s pretty though, right?” And yeah. It’s pretty. It’s fucking pretty, almost as pretty as Jensen’s silver eyes and curved lips that hide pointed teeth and even more pointed words. Sneaky wants to drown in all of it and he reckons that if he took his helmet off, he just might. “I’ll miss you.” He sighs, because Jensen is pretty and sharp and brings down the starfall, but he’s not staying by Sneaky’s side. “I’m still going to be here. Just on the other side.” “I know. I know.” A slender hand grasps Sneaky’s gloved one and he knows that yeah, Jensen won’t be leaving forever. They’re still the two of them.
