@thefeministlifestyle
I will reblog this everyday
one time a boy tried to pull my hijab off
i punched him in the face
closed fist, short swing, right in the jaw
there is a point where you stop trying to educate people and start making the consequences of their racist bullshit real fuckin clear.
Bob is a good dad. I so rarely see a father on television encourage their daughter and even TALK with them so openly about kissing and puberty and say so explicitly that it is their choice, not his. They didn’t play into the “father has to protect his daughter’s virtue” trope and I’m so thankful for that.
Licia Ronzulli, member of the European Parliament, has been taking her daughter Vittoria to the Parliament sessions for two years now.
Every time this is on my dash, it’s an automatic reblog.
FUCKING SIGNIFICANT
Whoops
Repost 3 times every time

I’ve actually seen feminists criticize this episode even though it’s clearly a pro-feminist message but also condemns extremists. I have a feeling there are many feminists who view Femme Fatale as the hero.
IF HIS ADVISORS DONT TRUST HIM TO TWEET HOW CAN WE TRUST HIM WITH THE NUCLEAR CODES
if I can suggest you do anything today, and if you’re eligible, please vote. even if the candidate won’t really affect you, think about those it will
I can’t believe we’ve gotten to the day of the election and people are still saying Hillary is as bad as Trump or, at best, “not as bad”. Have you not sat down and read through her platform? Sure, she has things she could be better on, but on the whole it’s a damn good platform. And better than that, she has shown that she is able to compromise and listen to people (hence why Bernie is her pick for Senate Majority Leader should we get that, she sees that he clearly speaks for a large swath of the US demographic and so is giving him a position where he can do some good).
Trump and HRC are not comparable.
It is an insult to your intelligence and analytical thinking skills to equate the two in such a way.
I cannot even.
for the love of god do not insult yourself by saying they’re both equally bad or one is only marginally better. I literally will never take you seriously if you do because you have shown an inability to research people thoroughly, analyse their platforms, contextualize their decisions in a way that is necessary when discussing politicians.
All the polls said remain was going to win, even during the night when votes were coming in people thought remain would edge it & in the end we left the EU. So, from a brit who can remember the devastation of waking up the next morning to discover our country & future was fucked, and you probably remember how upset your British friends were; good luck America & vote smart, convince your parents & grandparents to vote smart. You’re deciding your future, it’s not just four years, it’s a lifetime of repercussions.
I just left my husband alone with our two children for sixteen days. I was not worried about anything regarding the house, their food, or their wellbeing. I put all the appointments in the family calendar and my husband checked it and kept them. I literally did not worry about them. I missed them, and I was sad that they missed me, but I didn’t worry about them AT ALL. I need to impress upon you all that I missed their company, but was not worried for their welfare.
I also did no meal prep. I don’t even think I went shopping right before I left.
This is not about apples and oranges. This isn’t even about my husband. This is about the fact that this is apparently WEIRD.
Another mum at my daughter’s school is leaving for ten days. She’s taking her youngest (who is a very small baby) and leaving her husband with their two girls. She has been cooking for days preparing freezer meals. She’s panicking and deputizing her six year old to remind him how to make school lunches. AND I AM APPALLED.
A) He is definitely not helpless. (He’s a doctor or something.) What gendered bullshit. B) THAT LITTLE GIRL IS NOT OLD ENOUGH TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR HER AND HER SISTER’S WELLBEING. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. C) Why is she married to this person and creating children with him if he’s this big of an idiot?
While she was laughingly recounting this, the other mums were nodding and smiling sympathetically, like oh yes, I too have my caveman at home!! Such managing required! I was the only one who was like “Dude, he’ll be fine. Literally. He will be fine.” I said it a lot. She was not convinced. She kept bringing up her older daughter. She’ll be like a little mum!
NO.
NO NO NO NO.
NO.
Straight women, don’t do this shit. It’s gross. Don’t infantilize your husbands and then expect your daughters to pick up the slack. So fucking gross. So. So. GROSS.
The fact that so many adults think a six year old girl is more capable of learning and performing basic domestic tasks than a grown-ass man says it all, really.
