F: not exactly happy with this muse's characterization. He use to be someone that I enjoyed writing for but that has dwindled and fast. Every time I do write his replies they are always forced and that is not fun for me. So I will put this account on a permanent hiatus. I think Vincent might make his own Cornelius with an alternate backstory or something I don't know but it won't be this one or have anything to do with any of the plots that this muse is in because we are both incredibly uncomfortable with a lot of things.

This is just for further things said about this muse; if you are going to use his characterization in anything please, please ask either me or Vincent. Don't make up random hcs about my muse. And when I say muse I mean Kevin, my character. Not Cornelius in general, but the Cornelius I created and have been writing for, for quite a while as well as Vincent who has had him longer than me.

This characterization of Kevin/Resurrected will continue to be deceased until further notice. Maybe we will decided later to go ahead with his resurrection plot but as for now, he will remain deceased.

Exiting the king’s chambers, she was more than a little frazzled. He had been screaming at her for turning his guards into puppets. He was starting to understand how Cherise was getting through. He told her what he had done to those on duty who had let her pass. Any other lives still awaiting the chopping block she begged for their release. Ariel took responsibility for it all. She just wanted the killings to stop. Her pleads had not gone unheard, the families of those that stood guard heard her pleading for their lives and asking for mercy. Oberon reluctantly agreed, but now her visits to his chamber increased.

Ariel knew that was what he’d ask for. He hurt her enough, pulling at her wrists and marking an piece of her that would not harm the life inside of her. It didn’t feel like enough restraint was shown. She felt like a porcelain doll on the verge of breaking. Her eyes were down as her guard was showing her back to her chambers. Ariel had only glanced up for a few seconds before seeing the face of a young boy in the halls. Her heart skipped a beat. She had known Cornelius as a child, she knew his face and memorized every detail of it. “N….nnno.” She felt as if she had done something very wicked now.

⌠❀⌡ He almost rushed towards her but his path was blocked by one of the guards, “Dude.” Ned shook his head as if they were supposed to do as he wanted. “Come on, I know her.” He really wasn't even aware that she was the queen. She looked about his age maybe a little older but she seemed so young in his eyes. 

All her features, he recognized them from a dream. The guard wouldn't let him get past. Ned kicked at the floor frustrated as he tried to explain who he was but all he got was a stern look. As if the person he was saying he was didn't exist anymore. But her face, the way she had looked at him told him that she knew him too. All he wanted was to ask her something and maybe thank her. Because he felt it in his bones that she was the reason he was here. Before he woke up in the middle of the town there was a pain and it was her face that turned it to relief.

The idea of a new cellphone terrified Cherise and there was panic that flashed upon her face. She hadn’t even told Archie about the texts yet! They were too disturbing and they already had so much stress with the new baby on the way. Just coming to terms with her paternity was draining both of their energies that she didn’t want to add another bother to him. Besides, knowing how he would react? He might just go seek out the culprits himself and dole out his own justice. “Ah, no. Um. I’ve actually been having problems with my number. I did the damage myself.” Cherise admitted quietly, then shook her head. “I was afraid. I’ve been getting text messages. Threatening messages. It’s been nice not to hear my phone chirp. I stay close to home anyway.” It was an odd question to ask. Why wouldn’t a teenager know what to do? Since the summer was in full swing, back to school items were going to be marketed soon. It was a swing into school early bid. If Storybrooke offered dorm rooms with their college, they would likely have started dorm room items. “Well, I know Granny’s has a party. There’s probably a party at the high school. I know some teens volunteer to take the little ones out… I was thinking of heading to Granny’s this year, myself. The kids will get to show off their costumes, get plenty of candy, and get to enjoy a lot of good food. And it’ll be safe. It’s too dangerous for us to go out for Halloween this year…” Cherise frowned and shrugged at Ned. “I’m sure you’ll find something. I think you’d make a great Vincent Vega. That’d be something a lot of people my age would appreciate.” She chuckled. Did kids still watch Pulp Fiction? Sure, everyone liked Spiderman, but Pulp Fiction would be creative. “You could try to run a haunted house, too. There’s things even you could start as a Storybrooke tradition… I think the town could appreciate that!”

⌠❀⌡ “How....” Ned furrowed his brows as held the phone in his hand. “How is it your fault if you're getting threatening messages.” He wasn't going to push it. If she didn't want the phone then she didn't want it. But he was still worried about the whole thing. In his world they would call in the guard, but here the proper term was authorities, “Shouldn't you call the – police? If you believe your life is in danger, then isn't that what you're supposed to do?”

Ned looked around a little distracted for a few seconds then his concentration returned back to Cherise, “Who's Granny? “ He had almost forgot the list of people he should know from his mother, “Never mind, sorry. I know who she is. She's the lady in the diner, the owner of it...” He thought about what she was saying, it sounded nice but he didn't really know many people here. He still felt like an outsider. “Hmm...I'll make plans, maybe just have a scary movie marathon then.”

His mother was still craning over him. She wouldn't be too happy with the fact that he was walking about the town when he shouldn't have. But there were things he wouldn't understand unless he saw them. “That sounds cool, a haunted house would be amazing. I hope someone does that.”

Tabitha? Once he said that name it hit her like a brick to her stomach, her gut dropped and it seemed that the blood drained from her face. She knew Tabitha only had three sons and she knew why he looked so familiar. But it couldn’t be! He couldn’t be… ‘No.’ She thought as she backed away, but the similarities were uncanny he was Cornelius. A younger Cornelius but Cornelius all the same. She walked closer. “Cornelius?” She whispered, not sure what to make of this. She knew magic existed but it seemed untrue. Someone was playing a trick! Weren’t they? Tris couldn’t fully accept it yet there was no mistaking that Tabitha’s dead child was standing right in front of her. He was a lot younger but he was there and it freaked her out.

⌠❀⌡ He was shaking as he dug his feet into the mud. He heard his name and he didn't react, at all instead he did was lean back on the bark at his back and hit the back of his head. The trees had always been his friends, and whispered to him when he was a child but they were so silent now. They were muted and it caused him nothing but pain. He was a being connected to nature and the beings that animated it before, were lost. Everything had a life, and how the trees would dance and sing but there was nothing. They were limp beings.

“I just want to go home...I want to home...” He cried.

Little gadgets like a bluetooth or tablets were luxuries. Cherise’s shattered cellphone was all she had, other than her aged laptop that she hardly went on. The children used it to play games and watch videos now. She guessed that was what happened when a person got older. They used their gadgets less. She took more interest in her children’s crayons and their toys, truthfully. She smiled at Cornelius’ cellphone. His was nicer and newer. Obviously the boy was loved and his parents wanted him to have the best. She might not be able to shower her children in material things, but they wanted for nothing. So long as they had that same feeling of having everything they needed, it was all she hoped she could do. Cherise snickered and covered her mouth. “It’s alright. I tend to dress him in very gender-neutral colors. If he was awake, he’d let you know he’s all boy. His name is Kiernan… He was a year old on Mother’s Day this year. Mommy’s gift… It’s a gift he’s alive. I didn’t know I was pregnant when we found out he was there and he was born with a few complications.” Cherise reached into the stroller and adjusted a blanket so the sleeping child could get more of the breeze. “But I have a beautiful little boy. There’s a point when you figure even if your child doesn’t have ten fingers or ten toes, they’re alive and each smile is an I love you.” She gently pushed the stroller back and forth, chuckling. “Ooh, not this girl. She loves Han Solo and Indiana Jones. Last Halloween she was Han Solo. We dressed one of the smaller children up as Greedo and we gave the baby a shaming sign that said “I Shot First”. Was a big hit when we took them in the wagon… My oldest son was Darth Vader. We uh…husband and I were Luke and Leia. That’s what happens when the kids dress you. Incestous twin kissing.” She paused a moment and let out a soft sigh. “Uh, well I am expecting my husband in a little bit with some of our other crew, but I am pregnant.” She hesitated on the word pregnant. “I’ll be having a baby, yes. I’m not showing signs yet. It’s still very early along, but I’m pregnant. I’m a veteran at this by now, but it’s not easy. You totally don’t wanna hear a lady talk about the risks of childbirth. It’s gross.”

⌠❀⌡ Whatever new contraption that had come out, his mother seemed to get it for him. He was bathed in new things, new everything and he didn't understand why. Despite all of that he took pride in having few things that no one else had, even some adults. He felt like a little prince; though he wasn't far from being right. He stared at the phone then at Cherise's one with a broken screen. Quickly his lips twisted as he thought about what he wanted to do. “Do you want mine? It doesn't have any numbers on it and I opened it before my mom got the number for it. We have three other phones at home, so it's not like you know...” He wondered if that sounded weird, giving a phone to a stranger, an adult even.   

He leaned down and stared at the little boy. He was sixteen far from even thinking of himself with a family or even kids. He wasn't even sure he wanted any kids. Not with the way he saw his father. Ned was convinced that it ran in the family and if he had children then he would give them that fifty fifty chance of inheriting something that would have them locked up to keep them from hurting themselves or others. What he didn't understand was that it wasn't genetic. His father had been forced to carry the shadow for a short while, and it consumed him. The next host was Cornelius, who seemed to have been able to keep that darkness contained, though he was prone to violent fits of rage that resulted in the deaths of more than a few. All of this, this history infested with darkness was something Ned could no remember. Any part of him that had seen or moved when he had been under the touch of the shadow was erased.

Ned laughed at the story and though about his won Halloweens. He couldn't really remember any, they were all foggy. As if they weren't even true. “That's cool. When Halloween comes I want to be Vincent Vega from Pulp Fiction or Spiderman...though I'm pretty sure if I did that I would be one of the only older kids going out for candy.” he thought about it, “What do kids my age do for Halloween? Parties? If I asked my mom she might say yes. I guess, but then I would need friends.”

He nodded, “Yeah, you're right; sounds gross. Sounds also kinda scary.”

Tears welled in her eyes. Everyone she thought was her friend, Cornelius was now revealing that they only did that for their own personal gain. “Why must you do that?” She cried. “Why must you say these things? I thought Ariel was becoming my friend, I thought Tabitha liked me and now you say they are lies.” She shook her head. She started to think more how she would be better off  dead. How life didn’t seem worth it anymore, but she didn’t speak it. She left it stirring in her head, contemplating the idea. “It’s not your fault, what I did. It’s my own. I act too fast. I’m an idiot.” She shook her head, wishing she could rewind it. 

Tris nodded her head. She didn’t want to be like Oberon. She wanted to be like Puck. Kind. Caring. He had always been nice to her and yet she had got him thrown into a prison. “I thought I was making it about other people and yet they still call me selfish. Still say that I am terrible.. They still hate us.. They will forever most likely.” She kicked at the ground. 

“Why do you ask me to make these decisions when you already know I’m terrible at them? Every time I’m met with one, I make the wrong one and people end up hating me more!” She stated as she grabbed at her hair, pulling it softly, before letting it slide through her fingers like sand. “Fine, do what you want. I will say no more on the subject.” She stated as she looked down. Her thoughts whirred around. Death, the troubled, and the dead clouded her mind. Events that she had caused brought her more sorrow and her heart felt like it was being squeezed dry from all the blood that it pumped. She kicked the ground again before whispering. “I wish I was dead.” More to herself than anything. She rubbed her fingers against her palms as she thought about it. What if she really did kill herself? What would happen then to the people she cared about?

⌠❀⌡ He felt as if she was twisting his words around; whatever conversation they had been having it was gone. Now it was about making her feel better. He opened up that can of worms so he had no one to blame but himself. Still the points about helping his family turned to how nobody trusted her. Helping his family was about how not one of them trusted her. He wished he could have just skimmed over the subject. “No, you stop it.” He he could knock some sense into her then he would. But the dead could not hurt the living and vice versa. “I said she wouldn't pretend to be friends. That she wouldn't do something like that. Why are you twisting my words around? I told you to be careful with my mother because Oberon is using her. Because he is pulling her strings to hurt her. He's been hurting her since I can remember. Stop it, Tris. This...just stop. I'm trying to tell you that it isn't black and white. There is no one person who trusts the other or distrusts. People are being used and this isn’t about how much they hate you or don't hate you. My mother is broken, but she wears it well. She would never let anyone see her cry. If Oberon is hurting her, using her she will try to wriggle her way out of it as much as possible at her own experience.”

Kevin sighed an furrowed his brows. They were friends so he felt the need to tell her when she was saying something horrible. “It doesn't matter if they hate us. It doesn't matter. We hurt them. They have every right to be upset. They have every right to not want to talk to us. Because we did it, we caused that pain to them. So don't push people to forgive you because otherwise they will dislike you more. You will make them angrier.” It didn't seem like the right thing to say but he said it, “You have to let it go. After what we did there is no fixing the problem. It can't be fixed, because it's not a piece of glass they are people. And people need time to heal, they can't be forced to. One day they won't hate us, one day everything will be not exactly as it once was but it will be alright.”

Sometimes he didn't feel like her friend. He felt as if she made him her father, when they were nearly the same age. He had gone at twenty six, perished at his own hand but this weight of having to hold her up was a heavy price especially when he did everything in his own power to hold himself up. “You're growing up. We make horrible decisions and we make mistakes. That's how it works. It ;s not about what we did but how we handle the mistakes after, whether we lay around and wallow in self pity or how we pick ourselves back up again. Like I said, it doesn't matter if they hate us. Because they should. All we can do is give them time to understand that we are changing from that, that we aren't that person anymore and it takes time. There is no rushing it.” He heard her. And he wanted to say something. “When you're dead nothing changes. People still hat me. I can still hear them calling me a monster, a rapist and killer. Except it's louder because I'm not grounded to anyone place. I hear it from everywhere. I wanted to have peace from everything and instead I walked into Hell. I won't regret what I did. Because then I would have killed my wife and our children but I do wish I got to say goodbye and maybe to have held by daughter and son...”

⌠❀⌡ His mother had him hidden for days, the only places he was allowed to go was basically the other half that was untouched by the fae king. Everywhere but the as he understood the shadowy place. He was a boy, a sixteen year old that didn't listen and he tried his best to see what he wasn't allowed to see. No one really payed him any mind as he walked through the halls. He was welcomed for the most part, he got a few stares but nothing too scary.

But that's when he saw the face he remembered in his dream. “I know her...” He said to himself, standing and gawking at the woman with flaming red hair. She was the queen of the faylinn and he knew her face even when he had never met her. He needed to know why.

Tris shooed the boy, not liking how much he ran, but she caught her breath and followed again, wanting to try and help him. That was the way she was, she helped people by forcing it. Even if they didn’t want it she felt like she had to help him and she felt the way she thought to help them was the only way to help. She followed him into the woods and looked around, seeing nothing but trees. It reminded her of the days in Neverland, where trees and Peter haunted her dreams. 

She shook her head. How could she reply? It was true that he didn’t know her, yet he looked so familiar… So familiar.. Why was that? Tris stepped closer. “I’m Tris.” She stated as she walked slowly, stopping far enough away that she wouldn’t scare him. “Please. What is your name? We can help each other. I can help you find your mom.” She spoke evenly. “I know my way around town very well.” She stated before the thunder sounded, making her duck for cover. “Please. I just want to help.”

⌠❀⌡ He felt nothing but fear as sat by the trunk, his heels digging into the mud. Cornelius held his head rocking back and forth trying to piece together what he saw before being in this strange town. All he knew was the forest and here they were decayed and frozen. No, dancing or laughter just nothing but death and sorrow. He shook his head.

Cornelius didn't want to talk to her, “I shouldn't be talking to you. I shouldn't be talking to you. I shouldn't be talking to you. I can't...hear them...why are they dead? Why are they dead? The trees....” he whimpered; his mother had always told him if he was lost to ask the trees because they would guide him back.

He was still trying to recall what he saw. All he saw was a face, a face singing to him; with dark hair and the most beautiful voice he had ever heard. He didn't know who she was but he knew she saved him from drowning. She must have.. “My mother....” He wasn't sure if he could trust her. And he thought about it as much as he could. If this woman was dangerous, then his mother would do something on the spot. He knew she would, “Tabitha...”

She shook her head slightly as she looked down. Wanting to say sorry but knowing it would just make him more irritated with her. She looked back up at him. “I don’t know how River is doing, if you want that information. She’s hurt, and angry. Mainly with me, which is reasonable. Ariel is trapped, which you know. The last time I talked with her she seemed.. Different. More sad, though she said I could protect her children.. She forgave me.. In a way. I think. Though she was probably just being nice. Whale’s doing okay, I think. I don’t know for sure. What would you like me to say about them Cornelius? I’m sorry. I’m selfish. I do generally think about myself, but I’m trying. I don’t want to be like my father… I don’t want to end up like him.” She stated, worry filling her eyes. 

She bit her lip. It was true. She had left, and leaving is almost as bad as death. She rubbed her fingers together before looking down. “I’m sorry. I wasn’t thinking.. I left.. So I could try and mend what I did.. I wasn’t thinking about what you would have to deal with, and I’m sorry for that.” She stated before looking back up then. “Then let me do it because I want to help you. Let me help you because I want to help my friend. If I am supposed to protect her children. If you leave me out, I will have to try and stop you. Even if it is fixed, even if it’s already in motion. I will have to try and stop whatever you are trying to plan. I don’t want to do that, and after what you said about Tabitha I don’t really want to help her anymore.” She pursed her lips for a second before relaxing her face. “You know I’ll do anything. I will do whatever needs to be done to complete the circle. Won’t you let me?”

⌠❀⌡ Kevin shook his head, “I didn't know that. I haven't been able to find her. I can hear her but I can't find her...” His brows came together. Kevin was loosing his sense of self. There were things he was so sure about , a few minutes ago that now it was if he was hearing it for the first time. “Ariel wouldn't be nice to be nice...she wasn't nice when I told her that I was sorry over and over. Or when I asked her for help because I told her that I was on the edge ...and she told me to leave...” he blinked being able to recall that memory only barely now. “I don't want you to say anything. I just want you to talk. Talk about whatever you want but please don't forget that you aren't the only one that they are upset with. I know that they are upset with you for a lot of things. Mostly for what we did. I know that was my fault. I never should have told you anything about River. I never should have let the thing inside of me let---if you don't want to end up like your father, then don't make this about you.”

Everyone's hatred he could take. But there was just one person he wished would not be upset with him, Frederick. That little boy didn't deserve what happened. Though he had an idea that Ariel might not have even told Freddie that Kevin was gone. And that stung. 

He shook his head, “No, your reasoning has already been said. I don't want you to do anything because they hate you, because this is a horrible situation for you. No, please. Just calm down. Because I'm not going to do anything anymore. What am I supposed to do? I don't have a body. No one can see me. I'm not going to do anything. Stop what? What are you going to stop? I can't interact with living people.” he sighed getting lost in his own train of thought.

“Do what you want with my mother...She is being used. She has always been used. If Ariel stays with Oberon, Ariel will be assaulted daily. If she goes with my mother, she might loose her children. Weight that in your head. If Ariel had a say in it, she would rather be hurt then let anyone touch her children. But if she stays with my mother, Ariel will be able to see Frederick again...do you see the dilemma? River at least will be with her mother for two years, maybe three. She will have those few years in happiness but I don't know...I see things but it's not clear. I don't know. But I can't ask you for help anymore..”

Tris sighed. “Lands sakes alive!” She stated as she ran after him. “Hey! I’ll help you find your mother. Just come here!” She yelled as she followed him towards the forest, her clothes starting to get wet from the rain. She wondered why he kept saying ‘I’m not.’ The words echoed in her head. ‘I’m not.’ She tried to figure out who this boy was. Why he looked so familiar but she couldn’t put her finger on it. 

She stopped by him, breathing hard, trying to collect her breath so she could speak. “I. Can. Help..” She panted. “Who. is.. your mother?” She asked as she stood up a little straighter, her throat not feeling as dry as before.

He had run out in the middle of the woods calling out for her. His hands ran up the trunks of the trees and Cornelius fell to the ground, shaking. “They're dead...” He called out, not completing his train of though. Cornelius couldn't hear the trees talking, it was nothing but silence and that caused a tremendous pain in his chest. He recalled that he had seen trees dance when he was younger and that was the moment he felt entirely safe, when he saw them dance, heard them speak to him and when they took care of him.

“I'm not going anywhere with you!” His reply accompanied with a dreadful thunder that pounded over them. “I don't know you. Why would I?” He gasped for breath as he screamed. The boy shook his head not wanting to divulge anything. Dead trees had only ever meant one thing where he came from, humans. Since he was a boy, he had been taught never to trust humans. He shook his head, “Mom!”

he hated being alone. He hated not knowing where he was. But more than anything he hated that he felt lost and confused. Cornelius whimpered on the ground kicking at the dirt. As he took in deep breaths lighting and thunder sounded.
