Name: For now I prefer to keep my name a secret, so please call me gratin dauphinois (it’s one of my favorite French dishes) or GD if it’s too long.
Current studies: I’m in college, currently doing my first year of computer science. The first year isn’t fully about this, I have two different physic courses and two math courses obviously, but we supposed to have lesser through the years. Yes, this is my first year, so I’m studying with people two or three years younger than me. I can talk about this if it interests some of you, because when I say I’m 21, people are always very surprised, so I think some of you may be embarrassed about this (and you shouldn’t, really). :)
Languages: As you can see, I’m still learning English and my native language is French.
Interests: A lot of things, especially writing, philosophy, religion and feminism. I also used to read a lot of novels, but now I mostly read non-fictive books. For the moment, I only read fiction written by Elena Ferrante or Madeline Miller; for the rest, I content myself with fanfictions, because you really can find some masterpieces and for free. I’m also a huge fan of animes and mangas, but because of my studies, I don’t have anymore enough time to enjoy them, unfortunately (I think I watch one anime every two months).
My goals for this blog: I would like to keep myself motivated by sharing with you my success and my struggles, and maybe exchanging with you more personally. I also would like to use this tumblr to talk a little bit about mental health, because sometimes it can be a real struggle when you’re a student.
What I’m planning to do: Reblogging and posting. I’m mostly going to talk about :
- My computer science studies ;
- Books I’m currently reading ;
- My attempt to learn Chinese and to improve my English ;
- Writing and how I try to have time to work on my passions ;
- Mental health and school.
I do not guarantee to be very regular though, but I’m going to do my best.
My goals for this year: My main goal is to pass. It can seem like a very small goal, but I try to not overwhelm myself with too many goals or bigger goals, because of my mental health. I also would like to create a space in my schedule for writing. Obviously, I have a lot more of things I want to do through this year, but I will talk about them later.
