Misty smiled. “Yes. Fantastic isn’t it?” She hoped that her and Jenny would have an actual sibling relationship.

"It is! I’ve always wanted a sibling! And a sister is even better!" Jenny grinned and pulled Misty into a tight hug. "It’s bloody fantastic!!!"

Misty hugged Jenny back just as tightly. She grinned. The siblings enthusiasm was almost intoxicating.

"Ice skating, hm? Well, let me see…oh, yes, I know! There’s a nice planet out in the constellation of Spignarok, very cold there but no problem for a Time Lord. They’ve got HUGE rinks where you can ice-skate all you like! And see…" How to explain ice-skating?

"Well, ice skating doesn’t mean that the ice can move, though it does on some planets…ice skating is when you put on special shoes with blades on the bottom and you sort of walk around, pushing and gliding-skating-on thick ice, thick enough that it doesn’t break even when dozens of creatures are on it. It’s actually quite fun, I think." He had fond memories of playing on ice in his previous regenerations, and even as a child on Gallifrey. He’d always loved the cold, and whether he had proper skates or not, he’d wander out onto the ice, thick or thin, safe or dangerous.

When Jenny came back from changing, he looked at the outfit before giving a nod and smile. “You look beautiful, Jenny.”

Jenny listened with a smile. "Ok now that makes more sense than Ice skating!" she tugged at the blue jacket with a grin. "I'm glad you like it.. I figured blue was a safe way to go since this was TARDIS blue."

With a hop she was next to him and started to mess with some of the dials on the control panel. "So an icy planet? Or just a planet's winter? OH!!! Or better yet an Ice Planet? All of those sound like they would be fun!"

When people turn to fictional characters, it’s often because they want an escape. The stories of these people shelter us from the storm of our daily lives; they save us, if only for a little while. But when we really give in, become invested, let ourselves be vulnerable, something changes. We begin to feel that we know them. It’s no longer just an escape, but part of us, something that makes us who we are.

These characters teach us that incredible adversity can be overcome. That people can love each other forever. That life can be an adventure. That magic can be real. And even if these miracles have never happened to us, we begin to go through life believing that, someday, they could.
