day three of "idk what's going on at this job but at least i'm in an office getting paid?"

the it guy reacted with "🤔" and "hmmm" when i sent him a screenshot of the vpn/told him the authenticator app wasn't prompted, yet i'm able to access things on the network fine, so idk what -that- means (haven't been able to use the vpn at all at home, if i'm gonna be remote that's a problem)

and according to someone else in my cohort he and i are getting reassigned to a different manager since the one we -were- going to be under doesn't have the capacity to train us? which, both of us agree that it's fine as long as we end up somewhere that -does- have the capacity to train us, but it would've been preferable if this had been figured out before we started

at this point i have two emails to send and then have nothing to do the rest of the day, since i've completed the compliance trainings and am waiting on the it guy to ping me that he's available/wants to poke around in my pc some more, and had to request access to the systems i'm supposed to have access to in order to eventually do my job.

i am also back in the tiny office with the motion activated lights. who knows, i may end up having floor time/taking a nap this afternoon?

y'all i'm laughing. i'm laughing but i'm crying. i feel like i've been shoved into a side room at the office and forgotten because there is no room for me here and none of my team actually exists in this location and i don't have my access badge so i can't even go out to the bathrooms in the lobby and piss without it being incredibly inconvenient, the lights in this room are motion activated so now i'm just sitting in the dark. idk why i was told to stay in office until after my mentor call this afternoon, there is literally nothing for me here and i'm slowly starving to death

but hey. office job and getting paid, i'll take it.

entertaining myself by doing the generic security onboarding trainings and poking through the various internal community chats (disappointed the lgbt/pride group only has 200 ish members, but there's a gamer focused chat which is Neat)
