I don't think it's a coincidence that Haymitch wears a shirt made of handkerchiefs to the 50th reaping, and Snow, with an endless supply of clean handkerchiefs despite his poverty and supposed aversion to waste, has nothing to wear to the 10th reaping.

In re-reading sotr I was wondering why they’d lay out the tribute’s plates in district order around the cornucopia for the gong.

On first read I thought it was another way of helping distinguish a tribute’s origin to the audience, like the colour coding. But then I was wondering which district would be the worst off from that arrangement and it hit me: District Three. Ampert.

Three has One and Two to one side, and Four and Five to their other. The worst odds of the bunch. It was another way of targeting Ampert for a bloody death, with Beetee forced to watch.
