Emmy’s smile didn’t fade, and she tilted her head as he spoke, sitting up and starting to look like he was actually in the room. “You shouldn’t travel when your tired, it doesn’t help anyone.” A pause, and she extended her hand towards him, “I’m Emmy. Do you need somewhere to stay? I can help you out if you need it.”

He glanced down at her hand, eyes raising up towards her with a FLABBERGASTED expression. Why was this stranger so kind to him? He did nothing to WARRANT this treatment, so why? “How come you’re so willing to let me in that EASILY? What if I was a SERIAL KILLER?” Not that he was one, though he wasn't a stranger to murder.
