she/they | 25 | aro-ace lesbian | neurodivergent
Hi. 👋🏻
If you're coming from my writing account, you'll know I'm a complete klutz when it comes to introducing myself to a community. If not, well, now you do.
So, I had a thought.
Since this blog is meant to be more personal and I'm supposed to reveal a part of myself here, why don't I explain the different elements of my mood board ?
Therefore, you will learn more about me without me needing to search for words or overthink.
That's a win-win situation, right ?
It won't escape anyone's notice that if my avatar is present, it's because it faithfully represents me as I am currently. (I have dyed hair. I dress in black. I'm as blind as a bat. That's extremely accurate.)
If you visit my blog, you won't miss the dinosaur theme. (I'm a walking neurodivergent cliché, because I've been a fan since I was a kid.) This dinosaur model is a Megalosaurus. In fact, it's a photo I took at the World Museum in Liverpool.
Coming from several minority backgrounds and living in a society whose foundations are capitalist and patriarchal, I have no other choice but to be an activist. That's who I am. That's who I will always be. (And this will continue until my death, because I don't think I'll ever have to stop fighting for my rights given the dreadful future looming on the horizon.)
To my great regret, apart from Daredevil and Spiderman, I don't follow the MCU news much because I disapprove of some of Kevin Feige's choices. I won't hide the fact that I'm deeply troubled by the unfair treatment of certain characters who are clearly underdeveloped and underutilized. (*cough* Sam Wilson. *cough* Carol Danvers and so many of them.) However, despite my disappointments with the cinematic aspect, I remain a fan of the comics, and especially of this particular universe. It's actually one of the fandoms for which I write fanfiction. (Matthew Murdock and Peter Parker are my husbands. No, I don't share.)
I collect vinyl records so I can listen to them. I find them to be the purest and highest quality form of music. It's a real pleasure for my ears to listen to Classic Rock, among other things. (I'm a Swiftie, too.)
I am not versed in spirituality, astrology or the occult, but I have always found that I reason particularly with the Moon. I believe it is my favorite celestial body. (🎶 — Love you to the moon and to Saturn.)
Although I didn't take this photo, it depicts buildings — the Royal Liver Building and the Museum Of Liverpool — in a city I absolutely fell in love with when I visited in 2024. (Yes, I went to the Eras Tour.) It's a place where I could easily see myself living if only the United Kingdom weren't sinking into barely disguised fascism. (This is also the case, to my utter regret, in my native France.)
Tea is my favorite drink. I even spend money to drink excellent quality tea because it's a pleasure. My favorite brand is Compagnie & Co, the oldest French tea brand. (Pst... If you need recommendations, don't hesitate to ask. I know what I'm talking about.)
As mentioned above, I am on the aro-ace spectrum, in addition to being a lesbian. It is therefore only natural that the Progress Pride Flag is present in order to represent some of my identities. (I would like to reiterate that, even though I am a cisgender woman, I use the pronouns 'she/they' interchangeably.)
No, I don't particularly like ladybugs. (I even find insects repulsive.) Yes, it's a nod to my favorite singer, Noah Kahan, and his latest album — which particularly devastated me, by the way — The Great Divide. (I'm the last of the bugs, okay ?)
That typewriter is just to make me look cool, because I don't actually own one. (Unfortunately...) Despite that, I think it accurately represents the fact that writing has always been a part of me, even if my best friend knows how... fraught with obstacles my relationship with it is. (Hello, @marie-sworld.) Nevertheless, I am trying to get back to it, because I have so many things to tell and inner worlds to share with you.
That's a Dahlia Karma Choc. (And it's the most beautiful flower. Point blank.) Its colors — a blend of black and burgundy — perfectly reflect my personal style. (However, I don't know if it suits my personality, since I know nothing about the language of flowers. 👉🏻👈🏻)
Long before I discovered Marvel, there was Detective Comics. It's truly like my first love, even though I ended up getting lost along the way because of the bad film adaptations. (Snyder sucks.) However, in recent years, I've rediscovered a genuine love for their universes — both the comics and the brand new DCU. It's also one of the fandoms I write fanfiction about, obviously. (Jason Todd is my favorite.)
Autumn is my favorite season. (I hate Summer and there's hardly any real Winter anymore.) I think the weather is perfect, because it's neither too hot nor too cold. Also, those autumn landscapes are magnificent, as are the seasonal pastries. (I could eat cinnamon rolls and carrot cakes every day. 🤤)
Where my record player and vinyl records are located, my personal library also is. (Of course, this photo isn't mine — like almost all the others on the mood board, by the way. It's just an image to represent the concept.) It's crammed full of books that haven't been read yet, have already been read, or are for sale, because I've been a real bookworm ever since I learned to read. (Even though I now read more on my Kobo.)
@theiawoodvale is my writing blog where you will find my fanfiction works, as well as my original works. I also share recommendations of fanfiction authors I've enjoyed, whether on Archive Of Our Own or Tumblr. In short, this is where you can read me and interact with the 'writer' part of my personality.
APPLE MUSIC
I listen to underrated artists who deserve to be discovered, but this is also where you'll find my playlists related to writing.
ARCHIVE OF OUR OWN
In addition to Tumblr, I post my fanfiction works there, because I know most people prefer to use that platform. I have to admit that I, too, find it more enjoyable to read on a dedicated site.
FABLE
This is where you'll find my reviews, as well as my reading lists.
Honestly, I'm not really active, but I'd love to build a network there, because I know how useful it could be in the future if I decide to pursue traditional publishing and/or self-publishing.
As mentioned above, @marie-sworld is my best friend in this whole wild world. This isn't someone I met on social media, even though that's mostly how we communicate. I met that wonderful woman when I was in middle school, so she's been the most important person in my life for thirteen long years and I know she'll be there until the end of my life. (Firstly, because it's written in our friendship contract. Secondly, because we are totally co-dependent and that suits us perfectly fine.)
Marie is an exceptional person who shares all my opinions and values. She is as introverted as me and, although she doesn't have my fiery temperament, she fights for her ideas because she knows it's the right thing to do. She is deeply altruistic, generous, and kind. In short, a true ray of sunshine who, if you are lucky enough to become a friend, is worth getting to know.
Also, she's a lesbian and she's single. (Yes, I know we're on Tumblr and not Tinder, but you never know. 🤷🏻♀️)
By the way, I wanted to give her a shout-out, because she's also a fanfiction author, so feel free to check out her writing on @marie-swriting.
