Happy to report I arrived safely and shall explore the town a bit🥰 room is lovely and so is the view!
Today was an adventure... mostly for my knees. I had to give up one of the summits, because I knew the extra descend would kill me. Was hard enough to get down from what I hiked up. ANYWAY. The hike was fairly strenous for me, variety of terrains and beautiful views🥰 ...and cows, of course🤭🐮
And I went for a swim yesterday!😭💕
Yesterday, I thought I'd take it a little easier, planned a long one but with less altitude change🥰 motto of the day: LAKES 😍

You know, an interesting tumblr transformation that's happened gradually, and which I've seen no one talk about: ask-culture has essentially dropped off to nothing.
By which I mean, asks used to be WAY more of the tumblr economy. They used to be more common to send, and receive, and see. They were integral to the collaborative, forum-like behavior of old tumblr communities, not even to speak on the HUGE number of ask-blogs that used to exist to only be interacted with in ask-form.
I'm not saying this in a vying-for-attention way but instead in an observational way: I used to get way way more asks in like 2015, even with a fraction of my follower count. I wonder if it's due to the homogenization of social media sites? There's a lot more of this divide between "content creator" and "consumer" instead of just a bunch of peer blogs who would talk to each other. "Asks" aren't really a thing on twitter, are they? And as I understand it, the closest thing to an "ask" on instagram or tiktok would be a creator screenshotting some comment and responding to it in a new reel or video or whatever those content mediums are. Are asks just too tumblr-specific? Is that aspect of the site culture dying out as more and more people converge to using all their social media sites in the same way?
it's probably from assholes making asks a minefield of trolling/harassment for years with no real blocking ability, which turned people off from allowing asks on their blogs so as a whole the site moved away from it
but now that we do have better blocking, we should try to revive it.

Thank goodness for thick gloves and running water.
And the fact the cat doesn’t want to bite us.
I was able to relocate two mice outside.

It’s a summer cottage.
Screen porch and all that good stuff.
So unfortunately it’s quite easy for the wildlife to get in.
My mom had to replace the garden chairs pillows, they chew through everything! Plastic or whatever, and they leave shit everywhere. This sucks. I like mice but wild ones need to stay outside😕

She might be desperate enough to use his help, but she knows even his love can be selfish. Spike is one of the nicest vampires because he can love deeply, but it can only be a very deeply selfish love. And obsessive love can turn dangerous.
We as viewers see a handsome man trying his best though🤷🏻♀️ I am trying to be unbiased here, because my inner teenager is like "but he's helping, he's nice (he's hot🤫) why??!!"

How do you feel about Buffy and Angel's conflict in Sanctuary?
I get why Angel stood up for Faith but I'll admit the way he treated Buffy always hurts.
But it seems that what a lot of people have an issue with is Buffy's characterization in this episode.

irt the way angel treats buffy - tbh most of the malice angel inflicted on buffy was 1. in response to the malice buffy inflicted first and 2. very much knee jerk reactions (see: angel instinctively hitting buffy after she goes to hit him for a second time)
I think both buffy and angel had points. buffy was violated, attempts were made on her life, her boyfriend was violated, etc. at the same time, angel isn’t in the business of picking and choosing who’s worthy of redemption. he certainly has no ground to stand on either. the above ^ are nothing compared to the harm he inflicted upon buffy while soulless, which she wholeheartedly forgave him for, and now he’s paying forward the same compassion buffy showed him, towards somebody buffy was also desperate to save
I don’t have an issue with buffy’s characterization. if u think she behaves irrationally that’s fine, I think she has a right to irrationality regardless of if it’s exhibited or not. I think faith not only stealing buffy’s body but also attempting to kill joyce was a breaking point for buffy. she deserves limits too. and she thinks angel knows the whole story (he doesn’t, but he tells her so, and he gives her no reason to not believe that) and she’s entitled to feeling betrayed by the one person who was her constant
I think people exaggerate this a lot though. like I think people treat this confrontation as if it exists in a vacuum and there isn’t a reconciliation in the next episode! because why am I constantly seeing reddit posts like “do you think xyz scene in sanctuary permanently destroyed buffy and angel’s relationship?” NO! we had HEALINGS
