So I’ve had an idea rolling around in my head for a gag where my main character’s brother went on a drug fueled bender, blacked out and became the head of the city’s most powerful drug rings. But now i’m trying to write that weekend and its hard. but fun in the challenge of it sort of way.
the least realistic thing about star trek is that starfleet uniforms don’t have pockets and nobody complains about it
My instinct is to agree with this, but like, when I really think about it…
No money, no credit cards, identification is all vocal/fingerprints/retinal, so no wallet.
Again, doors are voice activated, or just unlocked by entering a code. No keys.
Communication devices are tiny and stick onto clothing starting in Next Gen. TOS had bulkier communication that they carried around or kept in, like, packs and stuff, so the arguments for pockets is a little more valid, and if I remember correctly, those costumes did have pockets, tho I could be wrong about that. But anything post TNG, the point is moot anyway.
Tricorders and phasers are really the only thing anyone’s carrying around, and that’s usually on away missions where they’d be bring their packs/holsters or just have them out. I mean, who wants to stick a phaser in their pocket?
So, yeah. There’s not much little stuff people need to carry around everywhere. And if they are preparing for a longer journey or want to bring bulkier things, well…just bring a bag. It fits more anyway.
what if i find a cool rock and want to take it home with me
Every time a member of the USS Enterprise has found a cool rock and taken it home, it has resulted in eleven deaths, six temporal displacements, the holodecks breaking again, and somebody getting turned into a lizard. Pockets are a privilege, not a right.
I’ve gotten more notes on this comment than anything else I’ve ever posted, but this is the best addition to it I’ve ever seen. Thank you.
i know you are all blaming Trump for the covid death toll in America, but remember that most of the control over reaction was state and city governance because he didn’t want to over reach and let the Sates run themselves appropriately.
I’m not saying you have to like him, just look at who is actually responsible for what has happened. there are a lot of governors and mayors who are way more to blame than the national government.
And besides... you wanted Trump to take total control of the country?
Frank Oz and Jim Henson ad-lib as Fozzie and Kermit in this test footage for the first Muppet movie, and honestly it's pure gold.
This is a professional shitpost roleplay.
So I’ve been looking at various private clubs from around my city for work, and i have to say, not a fan of the all-women’s clubs decors. lots of whites and soft colours. I don’t mind the floral, but it’s very inoffensive in a boring way.
I like the old Gentlemen’s clubs. mahogany and dark velvet, leather and furs and generally very cool.
There is a club that is only a few years old and caters to young business people and entrepreneurs, and that one looks cool. Modern, but in a sleek dark natural woods and black iron finishes sort of way. I want to be a young industry leader just so i can join it.
Also noted a couple clubs that don’t outright day anywhere, but feel very like a sleazy rich person gentilmen’s club. I’m not putting them on the emailing list.

I loved this
Caravaggio living paintings by Ludovica Rambelli Theater
This never ceases to amaze me, no matter how many times I’ve seen it.
I love that Allison says she knows 7 different languages, Vanya unwittingly speaks Russian to the FBI guy and Five speaks other languages in the show. But when Luther and Diego saw Öga for Öga written in the floor their first thought was it was a name.
What the f*ck these two were doing during their language classes?
diego and luther have strictly combative powers, so i don’t think reginald pushed them on languages as much as he did the others. allison had to know how to rumor someone in several languages, vanya had nothing else to do, and five seemed to be way more of an academic than luther and diego. klaus definitely had to learn a lot of languages to communicate with foreign ghosts and ben was like five in the academic sense. unfortunately, 1 and 2 share one braincell, whether they like it or not, and it’s always on vacation
