Day 2: Sick/Recovering

when you're healing, some days are harder than others...leaning on each other helps

this piece is actually inspired greatly by @hajihiko and their piece called The documenter

more thoughts on this piece:

The documenter actually made me think a lot about Mahiru's role in the Remnants of Despair. I'd already had the headcanon that Kazuichi was one of (if not THE) "favorite" Remnant (or at least as much as a "favorite" as Junko would have), but his actual scale of destruction was canonically massive reguarldless.

Who else do you think saw all that destruction? Photographed it?

That made me think that these two probably spent a lot of time with each other as Remnants. Their distaste for each other probably fueled the dispair at first, being forced to see each other/"work" together, but now...after it's over...maybe they sorta...become a little comforted by each other?? Like Mahiru SAW everything terrible that Kaz did but isn't disgusted by him; since, like, she broadcasted it to the whole world.

Kazuichi has to grapple with his crimes, and so does Mahiru.
