Ah imagine having to hide your attraction to someone. I as a same-sex attracted, biologically homosexual, lesbian female would absolutely have no idea what that's like. I've only had to live in fear since childhood that someone would discover I was gay. I've only had to guard myself against harassment, assault and corrective rape on the basis of my sexuality. I was only fired from a job for it. I've only had basic human rights like marriage held over my head. I've only been arrested and assaulted by police for it. So I guess I just wouldn't know how hard it is being an osa woman and having to keep your secret fuckboy on the DL. That, in and of itself, must be much harder to cope with than any laws or police brutality or endemic societal hatred that lesbians have faced since the dawn of time. As a lesbian I couldn't possibly imagine the sort of hardship straight women have to go through being able to marry, have jobs, travel wherever they like, hold their partner's hand without a second thought. That sounds just awful. So I guess me not wasting every ounce of my energy on these straight girls and instead centring lesbians in my feminism is actually just my homosexual privilege showing, silly me.

framing trans as a cult lacks critical thinking. it deflects from the fact that trans is a result of heteropatriarchy, not alien agendas. it’s not a conspiracy. when the world is so gendered, when femininity is naturalised as part of being female, masculinity naturalised as part of being male, when you grow up in a heteronormative world where males and females are “meant to be” — then what do you expect of a gnc gay person? of course they’re going to think they were born in the wrong body. how dare conservatives claim trans is part of the “gay agenda” when the right wing are the LOUDEST when it comes to perpetuating sex stereotypes? you can claim trans is a result of dumb commie lefties or whatever but there is literally nothing more conservative and traditional than the sex stereotypes and homophobia that makes trans a reality.

There is a difference between "not like the other girls" because you look down on other women and "not like the other girls" because you don't fit in and your peers treat you like garbage. Both of those exist, but the motivation and effects of them are very different.

but the thing is when a lesbian tomboy 12 year old says “i’m not like other girls,” it might seem like she thinks she’s better than other girls. it might be said in a way that can be heard that way. but if she’s getting bullied by conforming girls who alienate her from girlhood and female friendships then i really couldn’t give a shit how it makes feminine girls feel when she says something in self defence. ssa gnc girls taking pride in being non-conforming is going to seem like they are looking down on other women regardless, because femininity is so associated with womanhood that she’s seen as a class traitor for not fitting the female stereotypes. women bond over femininity, regardless of its oppressive nature, so i think we need to give ssa gnc women a break for trying to love their nonconformity. they don’t have the power to oppress het feminine women. they’re not the mean girls.

maybe 12 year old tomboy lesbians are saying “i’m not like other girls” because they’re trying to articulate how they legitimately are different to what’s considered normal for other girls both in sexual orientation and style/personality. femininity isn’t oppressed, females are, and we all know that kid being outcasted is a far worse experience than the way it makes other girls feel when she dares to build her confidence by taking pride in being non-conforming. by deciding for herself what’s cool and interesting.

comparing lesbians to men: this is literally just what lesbophobes do. we are women, we aren’t men lite.

comparing lesbians to rapists: we are already likened to predators by homophobes purely because we are homosexual. only people comparable to rapists are rapists themselves.

comparing lesbians to homophobic youth pastors: you’re literally comparing us to the same people harming us & equating us being mean to gay people being oppressed. stop.

comparing lesbians to the catholic church: same as point 3.

lesbians and women of colour are being driven off of radblr year after year because there is an attitude here that misogyny is wrong whereas lesbophobia and racism are just a mild disagreement. white & OSA women on radblr have repeatedly downplayed racism & lesbophobia and framed lesbians & women of colour as dramatic, bullies, misogynists, and as creating unnecessary divide for criticising lesbophobia & misogyny. until the more privileged women on radblr start to view being lesbophobic & racist as creating unnecessary divide, rather than treating criticism of lesbophobia & racism as an issue, minority women will continue to be frustrated with radblr and leave.
