Why would I try to bite wolves? They arent prey food and probably taste super stringy. Not really worth it. Besides, you gotta chase those bitches down and they look pretty fast.
I was mocking you for calling us “apex predators.” Humans are not part of any ecosystem, and therefore cannot be apex predators (or any type of predator).
No response to my comment about you punching a cow to death? Is it because you realize a cow would kill you if you tried to punch it to death? Isn’t a cow a “prey animal” to you? A cow or a wolf could kill you easily, my dear Viking. And what the fuck is “prey food?”
Yes, wolves are fast. You couldn’t catch them. You couldn’t catch and kill anything. You might be able to kill something is someone made just the right tools for you, but even then, you’d need some skill. Humans are giant egos in skin sacks. You are a useless blob, but proclaim yourself an “apex predator.” That’s what I was mocking.
*blink* This is probably one of the most ignorant things I’ve ever read. You’ve got to be trolling, right? Humans are a part of an ecosystem. That you think we’re somehow separate from them is merely a result of us completely dominating ours (for better or worse. Typically worse).
As for cows turning on you if you hit them, you’ve obviously never worked on a farm. Let me tell you something about cows…
Cows are some of the dumbest and most skittish creatures on the planet. When I work my granddads ranch, the only danger cows pose is during feeding, because they have a tendency to rush the feeding trough.
You know how you combat that? Place yourself smartly. If all else fails, you hit them, firmly. They’ll back off. And I know that crushes your little vegan fantasy of animal revenge but cows are afraid of EVERYTHING. If you started trying to punch one to death, its not gonna turn on you and kill you, its gonna run. Though, there might be a few stupid enough to stand there and take it…
But it’s a moot point. See, humans arent apex predators because we’re stronger than all the other animals. We’re at the top because we’re smarter and we design and use tools. Yea, Im not gonna beat a bear in a fist fight (though maybe, Sun Bears are kinda tiny) but humans are smart enough to know that it’d be stupid to try.
So your insistence that because I can’t wrestle a cow to the ground and kill it with my bare hands, I must not be a predator is to ignore that strength isnt the only tool I possess.
As for being a useless blob, sure. Believe that. I’m incredibly capable but Im not butt hurt enough by some noodle armed, pencil necked vegan to sit here and list off my capabilities.
We don't function as predators in an ecosystem. We are not wiping out the old and the weak. We are raising animals and eating them for fun. We are not strengthening a herd while feeding ourselves. We do not actually play a traditional "predator" role. Animal agriculture has nothing to do with the predator-prey relationship.
Cows actually aren't unintelligent; you see them as a commodity, so you are unable to see them as anything else. I attended university with the daughter of the family that owns the largest beef farm in my province, and she said that all the cows were really unintelligent, except for the one cow that her dad let her keep as her pet. She said that cow was really nice and friendly, and playful and clever. I told her all the cows were like that- it's just that her pet cow was the only one given the opportunity to show its personality, and was also the only one she didn't see as just a piece of meat. She argued and insisted that wasn't true. A couple months later, she came up to me and told me I was right- all the cows WERE like her pet cow. She felt really shitty and it kind of messed her up. Part of me wishes I had never mentioned it to her, but I'm also glad she realized the truth of the matter. You don't, though, and I doubt you ever will.
Cows are afraid of you because they're smart enough to know that you or another human has hurt and abused them or other cows in the past, and that you will do it again, and that they should get away from you. When you deal with cows, you usually have tools in hand that help you exploit these cows (including fencing, buildings, ropes, basically anything). You would absolutely lose in a true 1 v. 1. But anyways, cows do attack and kill humans. Google it. Here are a couple videos of it. There are tonnes more, as well as articles, but you can find them just fine on your own.
To be a predator, you must kill and eat something. Few humans kill the meat they eat, so they cannot be considered predators. Predators also serve an ecological role (as I mentioned in my first paragraph). Predators help the prey species remain strong by killing off the weakest members. Humans kill all the animals they raise for food, regardless of the animals' strength or health. Even humans who hunt don't go after the weakest animals. Predators also often play a role in increasing biodiversity in a community. Humans don't do that. We raise non-native/invasive species and then eat them. We aren't balancing anything out or any of that romantic bullshit carnists like to spew. This is what I mean when I say we aren't a part of an ecosystem. (Disclaimer to say that some groups of humans do still actually play the role of predators, but you do not, and the average human does not.)
I like how you say you aren't "butt hurt" (don't say that, it's homophobic), but then you insult me. I think you missed the point. It's partly because there is nothing more vulnerable and helpless than a primate (it's weird because you just mentioned in your post how we're useless...? We need tools and ideally large groups or we can't survive, and our offspring are totally useless for a very long time). But I was also trying to say that you are a useless blob, and I am a useless blob, and humans are all useless blobs. The non-human species of this planet would be much better off if we had never existed. We are not positive or beneficial contributions to life on this planet. I'm sorry you took that as a personal insult; it was not intended as such.
