genuinely one of the worst things that’s happened to television in the last few years (exacerbated by streaming services) is death of Filler. going from 20 episodes to 8 because “we didn’t really need that episode where the main characters went to the beach right? it had no long lasting effect” but we DID!!! we needed to see how they act without the Big Bad Plot and to establish the dynamics between the characters and lay in the sun (do they forget sunscreen? how do they react to a thieving seagull? do they get buried in the sand or do they do the burying?). the plot isn’t everything. the action doesn’t hit as hard without the quiet moments. give us character development and our little scenes back

Like, here’s the other thing: Ariel is suspicious and horrified when Flotsam and Jetsam show up and tell her the Sea Witch can solve her problem. She tells them to go away. The musical takes it a step further in “Sweet Child” by having her say Ursula uses dark magic and trying repeatedly to leave.

But in the end she agrees. Because at this point, the famously frightening and untrustworthy Ursula is a far better option. And Triton drove her into making that choice.

Looking into starting therapy, but I want someone who would be friendly/understanding with my Jewishness.

Quite a few of my anxieties come from rising antisemitism and worries about physical violence, so I can’t just not mention it, but I also don’t want to go through the whole litmus test of “are you one of the good ones?”

Do yall have any ideas on what questions I can ask to feel out how a therapist (or really anyone) feels about Jews that isn’t just “are you antisemitic?” Since it seems like some people don’t always realize that they are.
