Hi! Here's a submission for the Storytelling Event: One act of kindness shown towards me was when @reggieblck reblogged one of my posts, and complimented it! Thank you @reggieblck for making my day!
Thank you for sharing âĄ. This is a reminder to everyone that creators read your tags, and your compliments mean a lot to them. And, thank you @reggieblck for being a kind person!
Can we please stop associating being a good person with how much you're willing to suffer in silence for other people? You can be a kind person and still say "no, I don't have the time/energy to help you with that." You can be a kind person and still say "this makes me uncomfortable, please stop." You can be a kind person and still say "I disagree and here's why." You can be kind and still say "I'm not okay with this." Being kind is about treating people with kindness and respect, not about being the human equivalent of a doormat!
Being kind
Being kind is so important to me right now. It hasnât always been like that with me though. I was never mean but I wanted to be. I wanted to be tough, not realising thereâs so much strenght in kindness. Hereâs a few kind things you can do, if you donât know where to start:
Properly greeting everyone and always saying thank you and please
When someone messes up, be understanding (the looks of relief youâll get from waiters or cashiers say a lot about how they get treated)
When someoneâs doing something, help them if you can, especially if theyâre doing it for you (e.g. carrying gorceries)
Pay full attention to the person talking to you
Compliment people on things you like
Use your skills to help others (subjects youâre good at etc)
Share things you have (not just food, you can share notes and other stuff)
Apologise when you mess up
Smile at people
Make small handmade gifts
Think kindly of yourself
Give yourself permission to slow down
Have a nice day!
It all matters
âIt all matters. That someone turns out the lamp, picks up the windblown wrapper, says hello to the invalid, pays at the unattended lot, listens to the repeated tale, folds the abandoned laundry, plays the game fairly, tells the story honestly, acknowledges help, gives credit, says good night, resists temptation, wipes the counter, waits at the yellow, makes the bed, tips the maid, remembers the illness, congratulates the victor, accepts the consequences, takes a stand, steps up, offers a hand, goes first, goes last, chooses the small portion, teaches the child, tends to the dying, comforts the grieving, removes the splinter, wipes the tear, directs the lost, touches the lonely, is the whole thing. What is most beautiful is least acknowledged. What is worth dying for is barely noticed.â

Will you make self-care one of your new years resolutions?
Let your kindness be like the rain that cares not about whom it falls upon.

if youâre reading this, remember to tell your friends you love them, show appreciation to people who are close to you, or just do something kind for someone today! small acts of kindness can make someones entire day!! you never know if someone is in need of a little extra love
The most precious gift we can offer anyone is our attention. When mindfulness embraces those we love, they will bloom like flowers.
Thich Nhat Hanh
I find it really interesting how we wonât apply the same considerations to ourselves as we do to strangers. You know when you feel like being nice so you randomly compliment someone in passing? Or you see someone do something embarrassing, and instead of judging them you assume they are having a bad day and hope they know it happens to everyone? Or tell your friend that they are working so hard and remind them to rest and take care of themself? Yeah, that stuff. You are worth that stuff too. Try it. Tell yourself you have a pretty smile out of the blue. Stop judging yourself so harshly. You deserve the love you give to others.Â

â Kindness â
Small but important acts of kindness:
Smile at everyone you see. You never know what is going on inside of a person, a smile might be the only good thing in someoneâs day. It can change and save lifes.
Listen. Really listen when someone talks about their day, work, or any problems they might be facing. A lot of us often feel unheard and ignored and showing someone that you really care by listening can make them feel loved and as if they do matter.
Hold doors open. This may sound cliche but I experience it every day and when people do that for me, it makes me feel so good.
Let people cross the street. When you are driving and you see someone who wants to cross the street, stop and let them. Also, when another car wants to drive out of a parking space etc., stop and let them.
Write letters. Actually, we do not show enough affection and love to one another. So, for birthdays, anniversaries or even just like that, sit down and write a letter to a person that means a lot to you and include all the things you love about them. You can also just text them and tell them what they mean to you. No matter how you like to do it, just do it. It literally boosts everyoneâs mood.
Offer your help. Whenever you see someone struggling with something, do not hesitate to ask them if they need help. Chances are they will be super grateful, because they were ashamed to ask for help themselves. We have all been there.
Kindness is such an important factor in society. Sometimes I feel like there is rarely any kindness anymore because we are either anxious about the other personâs reaction, or we are so busy with our own world, that we simply forget that there are other people in other worlds as well. Kindness can change lives. Not only the lives of others but yours as well. So, I challenge you to be kind today and spread love and positivity.
Feel free to reblog and add more acts of kindness to spread the word! đ
