Went back and forth as to whether to share this, but this (slightly crunchy quality) Targaryen family tree goes out to my fellow asoiaf nerds!

Rewatching HOTD, and remember when they said Helaena doesn't like riding Dreamfyre, like she claimed one of the oldest dragons still living as a girl just for the giggles? Love that for her.

Controversial (?) take: Otto Hightower deserves more love than he gets. Since when have we, the asoiaf fandom, stopped appreciating ambition? My man got the famously racist dragon-people to marry HIS daughter and worked his way from a second son to the most powerful position in the realm. Even Tywin was an heir. And don't say Jaehaerys was senile (he probably was), Otto still had to endear himself to the royal family and fight for his position during the transition of power.

Okay, so he sold his daughter out to a nasty wife-killer (don't worry, still no love for Viserys). His ambition is clearly toxic to his family, if we're taking the show as absolute canon. But that makes him an INTERESTING character. Someone who should be explored deeper than "bad dad". Every character in HOTD, in my opinion, is an example of the lengths people will go to for the throne, and I really appreciate how no-holds barred Otto is about his ambition.

Sorry for the anger, I'm just really tired of seeing Otto Hightower bashing tags (no hate if you write that, fanfic is for fun, not TEDTalks) Like, even Tywin has less hate in his direction and he's worse in every which way and form.

Anyway, I'll go back to sitting in front of my empty Google Doc now.

Used to enjoy writing asoiaf fics until I realized I used the word "bosom" in a completely serious way. Now I have to burn my whole computer rather than face this shame.
