“aftg is badly written” ok then explain how it changed my life. literally, this series isn’t even classic literature but i think about it every day, more than i do any classic or ‘masterpiece’.

aftg changed my life when i first read it at seventeen and it still haunts me now that i am nineteen. it has changed my perspective of mental illness. it has changed my perspective on trauma. it has awakened my awareness to socially unacceptable mental disorders and trauma responses. it has changed my perspective of the legal system. it has changed my perception of the foster system. it changed my perspective on the united states. it has encouraged me to become a foster parent and to look out for our youth. it taught me that love, kindness and gentleness is still possible even if you’ve never been given it yourself. it makes me think about lies and telling the truth every day. it makes me grateful for where i am today and hopeful for where i can come to be.

stop hating on nora if you can’t even consider the depth of her work <3

Do you guys ever think about the scene before they left for the first trip to Eden's and Nicky hit on Neil again, Andrew said "don't make me kill you" and Nicky said "I know" and Andrew asked "Do you?" And NICKY SAID "PROMISE" and then he turned around and kissed Neil without consent anyway

If anyone ever tells Andrew about it, he's going to remember that Nicky promised, and then he did it anyway, that he lied just like they always do, and that Neil ended up in bed with him afterwards and then had to play nice with him around the others because he didn't want to have to leave and he thought Andrew knew, it won't matter that Neil realized later he didn't, Andrew would have to deal with the fact that for a while Neil would have thought it was part of Andrew's plan to do that to him, and much like Andrew himself with the Spears, had decided it was better or easier not to speak up about it to anyone
