okay this might have already been talked about but i have to get something off my chest. and i say this as someone who's been an aftg fan for literally more than a decade

the languages are to me one of the biggest plot holes in a series full of things that don't make sense. like it's very very obvious that what they're saying when they're speaking another language has just been written in english with no consideration for how that sentence would actually be said in the other language, or if any of those words would be recognizable to people who speak english

like why on earth would neil, who is admittedly for some reason a language savant but only spent a few months living in austria when he was a kid, not only be fluent enough in german to understand everything the monsters say AND to know what andrew means by "doesn't mean i wouldn't blow you" in GERMAN???? why would he know the german word for blowjob??? i know why andrew would (it's the first thing he looked up when he first started learning german, obviously) but neil??? how would have have come up when he was on the run with his mother in a foreign country when he was 12

also the level of fluency that kevin has supposedly reached in french from jean teaching him in bits and pieces with no formal training is simply impossible

i speak french, i need someone who speaks german to work with me on figuring out everything that they're supposedly saying in all the translated parts because i simply don't buy it
