When Randy's mom calls him and he says "I promise it'll be much worse if I don't" I've always interpreted that as him saying she'll make a huge fuss, be more suspicious of his whereabouts and maybe try to report him missing or something which you'd think Randy canonically would want her to? Like wouldn't he want help? So it truly is a case of either he just genuinely wants to keep hanging out with Benson OR he is taking responsibility for the BBB massacre and thinks he'll be held legally responsible and ALSO wants to go on the run to avoid consequences because he internalizes everything. Also the mall being their first stop [editing to say that I somehow forgot about them going to Benson's, but my point still stands] and the phone call implying his shift would typically be over by then? How many hours did they spend cleaning that place? That could be a whole separate post on its own

Uhhh this song but it's Randy realizing that the only reason Bensons still alive is to finish his job of 'fixing' him, and that if he leaves or tries to leave, he risks being the reason Benson dies. (And he doesn't want him to die, no matter how much he SHOULD hate him.)
