"No. I don't think it is if we are both willing to try." Link considered backing out of the conversation. It would be the easier option but he had come to Zach with a purpose in mind.  "This isn't about any program. You are my son, like it or not, and I want to be a better father."

I don’t blame you, you did the best you could. Addiction is a bitch, it’s not like you could just snap your fingers and everything was gonna be okay. He doesn’t see that now, but he will. I know he will, he’s just hurting.

My best wasn’t enough. He hasn’t said more than three words to me in a year. His relationship with you is strained. I want to believe it can get better but it seems too far gone.

I don’t know how you have put up with me for so long.

I wish I could say I don’t get how stubborn he is, but he definitely gets that from me.

I certainly didn’t help. He wouldn’t be this way if I had been able to get myself together and be a good dad when he needed me.
