toured mark twain’s house today and it was really cool and fun and i think we should keep painting geometric designs with metallic paint on walls to reflect more light
i’m also completely obsessed with the metallic gold Candace Wheeler bee wallpaper that was in one of the rooms. the bees & leaves were on the walls and the webs were on the ceiling
in my mind i am always the feral woman wearing a white nightdress with a mud-stained hem and twigs in my hair, running through a forest bathed in moonlight, screeching along with the owls and foxes

I think the most harmful thing to come out of consumerism in witchcraft communities is that people have thrown philosophy, theory, self discipline, history, and introspection to the wayside as skills to develop later. While putting the "need" to aquire objects and tools as the most important first step.
What's the point of all the crystals and herbs in the world if you don't know and understand WHY you're using them.
Oh and uh it blocks out poor and stigmatized communities from participating and makes it a luxury hobby. Which defeats the whole point of it historically being a resource for the oppressed and disadvantaged.
You may be missing very important magical symbols, lessons, and spirits if you're only looking for things to present themselves in ancient, mystical, or "natural" ways. Sometimes a deities presence is felt in a fast food restaurant, and the universe slips sermons into the song selection of your daily commute.
The world we live in is modern, do not reduce the universe to only the archaic. It aged with us.
It’s tempting to draw lines on a map, but we can’t forget that cities should be designed for the people who live there

Dollar Tree Candle Recall
I haven’t seen this around here yet, but I bet some of yall thrifty witches buy candles from the dollar tree because they are a dollar and great (I like to get the 7-day votive candles).
Well guess what? There is a recall! Its only for the small votive candles called “Sure Scents 2-1 Peaceful Stream/Moonlit Waves” in which the wax can catch fire and break the glass (doesn’t sound so peaceful to me).
Small votive candles sold exclusively at Dollar Tree stores are being recalled because they pose fire and burn hazards.
According to a recall notice posted on the Consumer Product Safety Commission website, 142,740 Sure Scents 2-1 Peaceful Stream/Moonlit Waves Candles are part of the recall and consumers should immediately stop using the candles.
“The candles’ high flames can ignite the surface of the wax or cause the glass to break, posing fire and burn hazards,” the notice said, noting no injuries have been reported but there have been “two reports that flame height reached above the glass, causing the glass to break.”
Adco Trading Inc. of Missouri City, Texas, imported the candles, which are approximately 2 ½ inches tall with a powder blue color wax in a glass votive, the notice said. They were sold at Dollar Tree stores nationwide from July through September 2020 for $1.
Just passing this information along! Be safe out there and if you bought this candle between July-September 2020 (for $1 - just thought that was funny, of course its only a dollar, its the dollar tree) DON’T USE IT.
