Even if she hurled a flurry of questions towards her uncle and her partner, Ruby knew when to listen, and she listened intently to Weiss, her reactions minimum until the end when she once again wrapped her arms around Weiss in a hug. It was definitely a shock to learn everything she’d gone through, the craziness of it all, but her first instinct was to comfort. “I’m so sorry, Weiss! That’s awful.” 

Ruby opened her mouth again to launch another round of questions, but Qrow beat her to it. She stared at him, frowning, and completely and utterly confused. “Wait wait, what are you talking about?”

“It’s ok… But thank you for this…” Weiss replied, having enjoyed the comforting embrace a bit too much, but smiling nonetheless, before looking over to Qrow, a spot of curiosity in her eye as she did. “There was no mention of a ‘maiden’, and I can’t say I noticed anything odd about the weather, no. Why? Is there something important I should know?” She asked, just as confused as anyone else in the camp.

Qrow looked skyward, as if that would do anything to help. But the gods had long since left the building to rot. “What about Raven’s second or third? Anything odd about them?” If Raven had the Maiden, she would keep the girl close. “At this point there’s probably a lot all of you should know.” He just didn’t want to be the one to tell them. He pulled out his flask and took a drink. There were many reasons he’d quit teaching. He looked over at Ruby. She was going to be dragged into this just like Summer. Just like all of them. And once Yang was back on her feet, she’d be in over her head as well. He looked over at Ruby.

“D’you remember the story of the Four Maidens?”

“The story of The four Maidens? What’s that?” Weiss asked, but quickly went silent as Qrow looked over to her, the white haired girl having never heard such a tale, her childhood not exactly full of happy memories, instead filled with private tutors, as well as the constant guidance into running the Schnee Dust Company taking up most of her early years.

As the hug loosened around her body, Weiss felt the warmth leave her body, only fleetingly, eeping slightly at the second hug soon after, not expecting it, and so a small blush formed, before willingly following her partner to the campfire. Taking a seat on one of the logs surrounding the flames, Weiss looked around the group, soft smiles gifted to each remaining member of Team JNPR, before sighing in relief, glad to be in the presence of her friends.

Now sat down, Weiss was able to finally relax, about to speak, but that was before she was bombarded with questions from Ruby, who had sat besides her. As soon as she was able to answer, Weiss breathed in, and began retelling her story. “Don’t worry about my looking a tad… ‘worn out’… That was a result of the crash I was subjected to the other day…” She said casually, as if this sort of thing was normal for the white haired girl, despite the fact she was a part of Team RWBY. “We were attacked by lancers, and soon afterwards, I was captured by bandits…”

Qrow let her finish her story before he spoke. He knew there would be plenty of questions for him, but there were more important things to figure out. “Weiss, did Raven or anyone else in the camp mention a Spring Maiden, or a Maiden?” He watched her expression closely, and for a moment his laid-back facade was gone, replaced by the spy he’d become. “Or was there anything strange about the weather or anything you saw? Its important, no matter what Raven might have told you.” He didn’t care that the rest of them thought it was a fairy tale, they’d learn soon enough that it wasn’t. That they were all in deep shit with only one way out. He just hoped Leo would know what it was.

As she was put on the spot by Qrow Branwen, Weiss felt a little uneasy, glancing around the area that she had been led to, and spotting the faces of her friends from Beacon. Slowly, she began to raise her hand to wave to them, but was cut off by the actions of the red themed huntress now running towards her, before gasping as the weight of the girl settled on her body.

Tearing up slightly at the gesture, Weiss couldn’t help but hug back, the closeness to her best friend, and the person she missed the most, overriding any and all restraints placed upon her mentally. “I missed you too Ruby…” She said, burying her face into the crook of her partner’s neck, before mumbling, only loud enough for Ruby to hear. “I guess I’m now the shortest one on the team…”

Qrow watched the two for a moment, and debated slipping away. It would have been far easier than trying to explain his presence, anyway. “Your friend here ran into me. I thought you might want to see her.” He stayed where he was as the other three students slowly changed their focus from the reunited pair to him, looking confused. It was hard to look at the blonde kid, knowing what had happened to Pyrrha and the role he’d played in that, however small. 

“Why not get back around the fire? Weiss looks dead on her feet, and I’m sure you have questions.”

Ruby chuckled quietly as she pulled away just enough to look at Weiss, then quickly hugged her tight again. She couldn’t believe this was really real, that somehow Weiss was here in the middle of the Anima nowhere with them. But her uncle was right, there were so many things that needed answers now. Her gaze slid over to Qrow and she nodded, tugging Weiss over to their little campfire.

“Weiss, you look beat up, what happened? How did you even meet up with Uncle Qrow? Uncle Qrow, how’d you even know where we were?” Now she was just plain confused, trying to make sense of it all. Weiss had gone back to Atlas, last she saw her uncle he was still on Patch. And all of this was months ago.

Focusing on the important information first, Weiss drew breath, knowing that whatever she was about to say, Qrow was already aware of, and would keep it close to his chest. “I know about Salem, about Ozpin, and…” She paused, gathering the courage to admit that her friend may be in great danger. “… the fact that Ruby may be at the center of it all, just like her mother…”

Steadying herself once again, Weiss continued to speak, elaborating slightly on some of the mentioned topics, showing she knew some information, but not all. “I know Salem leads the Grimm, I know Cinder has allied herself with Salem, and I know Ozpin is more than he seems to be… But that’s irrelevant to me right now. Qrow… Is Ruby ok? I know she’s in danger, how I’m not sure, but I need to know she’s ok”

Well… fuck. The moment Weiss got to the others… she’d likely tell them. Especially if she thought Ruby was in danger. “Cinder should be dead,” he told her, but his voice sounded uncertain even to his own ears. Because he wasn’t entirely sure just what Cinder was now. Not after what she did to Amber. And Ruby didn’t have the Fall Maiden’s powers. Thank the gods.

“She’s okay for now, I’ve been watching over her and her friends.” To some it might look like he was using them as bait, but the truth of the matter was that he was the bait. Him and his semblance. “She is in danger.” He rubbed his hand over his face. “And its probably about time she knew what was going on as well.” Hell, it was past time, if he was being honest with himself. “Follow me.” He led the way through the forest, following the sound of laughter until they reached the campfire the group of huntsmen had gathered around. Out of habit he moved silently, keeping to shadows, remaining unseen until the last moment. He braced himself, then stepped into the open where they could see him, moving so Weiss could also be seen. 

“Hey.”

Ruby jumped to her feet at the sudden voice, unhooking Crescent Rose from her belt and looking for the source and freezing when she saw her uncle and not some threat. She blinked a couple of times in confusion. “Uncle Qrow? What are you doing here?” All the way out in Anima, in the middle of pretty much nowhere. The rest of her team– Jaune, Nora, and Ren– stood too, just as confused as she was.

And then Ruby saw *her,* her partner, her best friend, the girl she hasn’t heard a single word of in months. She gasped, taking a couple steps forward that led her to break into a run, the space between them closing in until she could throw her arms around Weiss’ neck. 

“Weiss!” Ruby held her tight, and she didn’t know whether she wanted to laugh or cry. She was just so happy to see her. “I missed you so much!”

“Where else was your sister supposed to send me? It’s not like I have anything of value now…” Weiss replied, looking down at the floor as she recalled the incident in the manor, having being removed as Heiress. “Do you think she would have kept me at the camp, as a prisoner? Because I seriously doubt that… By the way…” She paused, looking up at the gruff, ragged form of Qrow, clearly exhausted from tailing Team RNJR. “What’s the truth about Ozpin? What happened when your team was at Beacon?”

“I could give you the list, but you don’t need those nightmares,” he replied, though he didn’t really believe that Raven would go for most of the options. She was many things, and had done many things he didn’t think she would, but there were still some lines he didn’t believe she would cross. 

He grimaced at the question. Clearly Raven had been talking, which was a shock… and perhaps there was something he could learn. But he wouldn’t answer questions from the girl that he hadn’t answered for his nieces. Of course, Ruby was nearby and Yang could probably get some answers out of Tai one way or another if she decided to. “First I need to know how much my sister told you.” Then… then he had to make some choices he’d wanted to avoid as long as possible.

Moving to stand up, the tiredness of the past day or so’s events wearing heavily on the white haired girl’s body, Weiss managed to stand, looking directly into Qrow’s eyes, ready to explain what had happened. “Well, you see… I was trying to escape from Atlas…” She said, glancing down to her feet, noticing one of the straps on her heels had broken, and so made a mental note to get them repaired. “On the way, the airship I was on was attacked, and crashed, after which your sister’s tribe found me, and held me hostage. They were going to send me back to my father, or failing that…” Weiss paused, a tad fearful of what she was about to say, knowing the group would have their way with her. “… the White Fang”

Yeah, that sounded about right, up until the part where she somehow ended up crashing into him instead. And since Raven wasn’t following directly after, it wasn’t a mistake. “Okay… now, I realise this is probably a bit of an obvious question, but why did she send you to me instead?” Raven never did anything without a reason, especially if it didn’t benefit her directly. Not any more, anyway. 

“I can see you’re tired, but I need to find out what’s going on, then I’ll take you to your friends and we’ll figure out what to do from there.” Especially since he was going to be the one interrogated once he showed up where Ruby’s camp was.

As the sensation of the portal faded, having made it through, Weiss began to fall forwards, but as she braced to hit the floor, she instead found herself bumping against something a tad softer than the ground. As she came to a rest, Weiss debated opening her eyes, afraid of what she would find, but as the voice spoke up, Weiss finally cracked her eyes open, looking up into the rough visage of Ruby and Yang’s uncle, Qrow Branwen. “So Raven did send me to the right person…” She sighed in relief, obviously tired from the recent events that had transpired.

That was not a phrase he commonly heard. “Okay… so, again, I’ve got questions. You’re supposed to be in Atlas or somewhere where your uptight sister is. Not anywhere near mine. So an explanation might be in order.” Though maybe Weiss would be able to tell him something about the Spring Maiden. He was still certain that Raven had her hidden away in that camp. All the evidence pointed that way, and she’d practically confirmed it during their last conversation. Raven was a mystery to many, but he could still read his twin like a book.

Of course, if that really were true, he wouldn’t have so many questions about why she’d run away.

Nodding as Raven moved aside to allow her entry into the portal, Weiss began to walk towards it, before stopping just in front, turning to face Raven. “Anything you’d like me to say to your brother or daughter?” She asked, waiting for a response as the energies shifted before her, the dark red and black portal fluctuating constantly.

Raven considered. “Tell Yang that Adam Taurus is her problem and Blake’s.” No matter how much she wanted to carve the fanatic into ribbons and feed him to her namesake. There were some victories that one needed in order to stand strong again and move on. “Its not a fight for anyone else to take in their place.”

Nodding in response to the message given to her by Raven, Weiss breathed in, clutching her weapon tight in her hand, before taking a step towards the portal, and then another, trepidation flowing off her being in waves, unsure of what to expect on the other side. Squeezing her eyes shut, Weiss decided to take the ‘bandaid route’ and just charged straight through, knowing that if Raven had wanted her dead, then she wouldn’t be going through a portal of her own accord.

Qrow was setting up his own camp for the night. Which for him meant picking a nice, comfortable tree branch close enough to Ruby and her friends to hear someone scream but far enough away that they wouldn’t be affected when things inevitably went south for him and that they would never know he was around. At least he could sleep well enough in bird form.

What he didn’t expect was one of Raven’s portals. Even more unexpected was the mini-Ice Queen charging through it. He dropped down and shifted so that she would crash into him instead of a tree, staring as the portal vanished. Why in the fucking ever-damned godsforsaken hell that was his entire life was Weiss Schnee with Raven? He looked down at the teen, frowning. She was supposed to be in Atlas. Barring that, he would have said she was with the Ice Queen herself. Not in the roughest wilds of Anima.

“So, this might not come as a surprise, but I’ve got questions.” And, of course, there also went his plan to shadow Ruby and her group. There was no way he was getting out of this one undiscovered.

“… I don’t care if I’m a part of that cause. I was extremely rude and critical towards people when I first attended Beacon, due to how I was raised. Then something wonderful happened…” Weiss spoke, the warmth from her heart giving the strength required to face Raven. “Ruby wanted to be my friend… And despite my early reluctance at this, over time she broke down my defenses, and took hold. She is my first true friend, and I’ll be damned if I let her face this cause alone…” A small smirk appearing on her face, Weiss looked at Raven dead in the eyes, before speaking once more. “And if my suspicions are correct, the same occurred with you and her mother…”

Raven’s expression hardened. “A momentary lapse that has since been rectified. Friendship, love, trust, such things create weaknesses that can be exploited by enemies, and leave you open to more pain than you could imagine. Relying on others will only get you killed, or worse.” She drew her sword.

“I have a rule. I will save someone’s life once, and that’s it. Consider this your one time. Next time we meet, if you’re in my way, I will kill you.” The rule didn’t apply to everyone, but the girl didn’t need to know that. Raven opened the portal to her brother.

“Names are funny things, Schnee. They create us, define us. They can tell of our destinies, or they can be our doom. I’m sure you’ll have the same success escaping yours that my brother did his.” Her tone clearly conveyed his failure, though Weiss wouldn’t know the reasons for it. She stepped aside so Weiss could go through the portal.

Grimacing at the thought of having to potentially end someone’s life in order to carry out a duty she would volunteer for if she stayed, Weiss growled in defeat, knowing that was something she could not do. “Fine… But, I don’t know if Yang is the best one to send me to… I mean nothing against her, but I saw how hurt she was at the Fall of Beacon. I know she was being sent home. I don’t know where Ruby is, but I’d wager if anyone did, it’d be your brother…”

“My brother and Summer’s daughter are traveling together, along with some of her other friends.” She’d managed to keep from checking in on them again, and would admit to no one how relieved she’d been when she’d no longer sensed his life was in danger. She wasn’t surprised by Weiss’s choice, and briefly wondered -not for the first time- if she’d have made the same if she’d been given it. But that hadn’t been the case, and she and her brother hadn’t been found by heroes that day. “And if you go with them, you’ll be a part of their foolish cause and damning yourself.”

Unmoving despite the portal before her, that led to Raven’s daughter, Weiss glared at the bandit leader, the threat doing nothing to break her resolve. “You may as well kill me now then… You stand there, telling me about Ozpin, Salem, your team, and expect me to keep that silent? You may as well have just not told me anything, and left me to fend for myself in the wild…”

Taking a step towards the powerful woman stood before her, Weiss knew that, although it would be difficult, there were only now two options. “Either I join your tribe, and forget everything about my team, my friends, my family… Or you kill me where I stand. But you cannot expect me to keep such powerful information hidden… If Cinder Fall was aligned with Salem, then there’s more going on than you’re telling me…”

Raven sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose for a moment. “I don’t give a damn what you tell your team, Tai knows much of it, and Qrow has likely guessed more at this point. And I’m certain there’s more going on than I know. I’ve tried to stay out of this war for almost twenty years, only finding out what I need to so I can stay out of its way.” She raised the tip of her blade so that it was level with the girl’s throat. If only she had been the Maiden that Raven had found, maybe things would have gone differently. 

“I don’t think you understand, Weiss. If you stay, it means you’re part of the tribe. It means that you follow any order I give immediately and without question or protest. It means that you will have to slaughter innocent men and women and take their blood-splattered valuables off their corpses and take whatever you can find in their homes. There is no way around it. Everyone in this tribe pulls their weight.” She took a step closer, the point of her blade resting against the heiress’s neck. “It would mean killing huntsmen and huntresses. It might even mean having to kill your own sister, as she could very well be one of those trying to stop us. It’ll mean helping those smugglers who keep stealing from your family. Most of them have deals with us allowing them safe passage through our territory. Sometimes we’ll steal from the shipments ourselves.”

She tilted her head slightly in a rather bird-like gesture as she watched Weiss’s face. “Do you really think you can do all that?”

Thinking over the options that had been given to her, Weiss knew that Raven was not going to budge, the information she had received all Weiss was likely to get. “4 options… Go back home is not something I intend to do, considering how much I’ve been through to try and escape Atlas. Staying here, what good I would be to you I won’t even pretend to know… Besides, I doubt you’d even be willing to let me stay here…”

“Meeting up with Ruby would be the best option in my mind, but I don’t even know where she would be, so that could rule that option out… And I’m not familiar with Qrow, only what I’ve seen of him during his visit to Beacon… And Yang, I believe she’s at her home, recovering after the injuries she suffered at Beacon…”

“I wouldn’t give you the option if I didn’t intend to allow it,” she informed the young huntress. A shadow passed over her gaze when her daughter was mentioned, showing that there was some deeper emotion there. She knew what had happened, had watched over Yang more than once from the tree outside the window But she forced the feelings back, and the shadow vanished as if it had never been. “You have some talent, for all you still need training. Though I doubt you’d feel at home here. As part of the tribe, we cast aside our family names and may choose new names for ourselves and make new identities, but I believe your morals wouldn’t work with ours.” No matter that it was very different from the tribe she and Qrow had grown up in. She’d made damn sure of that. “And before you can ask, no, Branwen isn’t my real last name. It was merely for convenience when my brother and I applied to Beacon. Our first names are not those we were born with, either.” But they had been shaped by them in so many ways… at this point it didn’t matter that those names were lost to them.

 She drew her sword and slashed at the air, opening a portal to her daughter, wondering how much the heiress would reveal, and how Yang and Taiyang would react. “I suppose it should go without saying, but many of the things I have told you are to remain secret. The information falling into the wrong hands would put more than my own life in peril, and my own life is not something I risk lightly. So take care, or I will hunt you down and kill you.” She stepped aside so Weiss could leave.

Unmoving despite the portal before her, that led to Raven’s daughter, Weiss glared at the bandit leader, the threat doing nothing to break her resolve. “You may as well kill me now then... You stand there, telling me about Ozpin, Salem, your team, and expect me to keep that silent? You may as well have just not told me anything, and left me to fend for myself in the wild...”

Taking a step towards the powerful woman stood before her, Weiss knew that, although it would be difficult, there were only now two options. “Either I join your tribe, and forget everything about my team, my friends, my family... Or you kill me where I stand. But you cannot expect me to keep such powerful information hidden... If Cinder Fall was aligned with Salem, then there’s more going on than you’re telling me...”

With the answer given by the bandit leader, only more questions arose; Ozpin, the Wizard, and his true motives; Salem, and her motives; the formation of Team RWBY, and how it mirrored that of Team STRQ prior to their existence. The fates and destinies of all involved, and that of her own, now brought to the forefront, Weiss unable to comprehend the facts before her, and unsure of what next to do, and so, one question rose to the top, winning out against any other. “What do you suggest I do?” She asked, her whole existence fractured since being separated from her friends.

“First of all, make your own decisions,” Raven replied. “If you let others make them for you, you’ll wind up like my brother, blindly following where others lead.” She sighed. “If you want to look at it simply, you have four options. You can go back home, you can stay here, you can join Summer’s daughter, or I can send you to Yang or Qrow. Ruby is with him, and some other misguided students in over their heads.” She sipped her tea. “You also need to decide if you’re satisfied with the answers I’ve given you, or if you want to find more information. Perhaps from my brother, or even Taiyang, though he doesn’t know nearly as much as Qrow and I.” He’d been spared the fate of being a spy.

“Ozpin?! He’s the wizard?!” Weiss gasped out, having taken a sip of tea not long before that information was made known, causing her to spit it out across the table, a blush on her face at the lack of etiquette. “A-apologies… So, Ozpin was the wizard, and he allowed your team to go on ‘less than random’ missions…” Weiss said, mumbling to herself as she thought about how he had allowed Team RWBY to go to Mountain Glenn, despite it being outside of their allowed restrictions. “Just like with Mountain Glenn… Do… Do you think that’s part of the reason he allowed Ruby to join Beacon early? And why he made her team leader?”

Raven raised a brow, but said nothing at her outburst. “Doesn’t it seem strange to you that the silver-eyed girl, the daughter of two of the strongest fighters, the heiress to the Schnee Dust Company, and the daughter of the great leader of the White Fang ended up on the same team as a matter of chance? All four set to inherit something powerful. Just like the silver-eyed girl, the killers, and the strongest brawler all ended up on the same team. We always wondered just how much of it was truly chance. Her eyes are definitely one of the reasons he let her in early. As for leadership…” Raven sighed and sipped at her tea. “Summer… at first glance you would never think she could lead anything, let alone a team as chaotic as ours. Qrow and Tai, perhaps. They were more followers than leaders, especially Tai. I, on the other hand… I intended to rule.” She stood and started pacing slowly. “I wanted freedom, independence. I wanted to answer to no one but myself. Power seemed to be the key to such a position, and I was willing whatever it took to get that power. Even if it meant pretending to be a slightly wild orphan from the outskirts of Mistral for four years and take orders from idiots I could have taken down one-handed, who didn’t know what it was like to really have to survive.” She grinned slightly. “I’m sure you can imagine my surprise when Summer was named leader instead.”

She sighed and took another sip of tea, leaning back against a table full of maps. “But there was something about her… something unidentifiable. Somehow she kept us together and even working as a team.” Her gaze became shadowed. “She was the first person I ever truly trusted, outside of Qrow…” But those days were gone, and they could never come back. Her expression hardened once more. “Ozpin has a plan for her, for all of you. Mark my words and remember them. Whatever guise he wears from lifetime to lifetime, trying to mask the man behind the curtains, its all the same in the end. He’s as ruthless as Salem and will discard his pawns just as quickly when they no longer serve his goals.”

Checking over the rapier that was handed back to her for damage, Weiss followed, and after being content with the fact there was none, sheathed it, before entering the tent, and sitting opposite the bandit leader, her emotions hidden behind a mask during her time here. “Magic? There’s no such thing… Unless you mean a semblance…” Weiss replied, her past experiences backing her reply up.

“No, I mean magic, like in the old stories.” Raven went quiet as Vernal brought the tea in and poured it for both of them. She sipped at hers. “Try it, it might not be anything as… sophisticated as what you might find in your mansion, but our herbs are far better down here.” She stood, resisting the urge to pace. “So many of the old tales are true, but quite inaccurate. Like all those tales involving a Wizard. They never seemed to realise he was one of the monsters. Of course, few people saw what my team and I did.”

Eyeing up the tea blend, Weiss reluctantly took a sip, eyes shooting wide as the flavor hit, such a rich taste hitting her tongue. “I will admit, this tea is indeed wonderful… So, your team… I can only assume that Yang’s father was also on this team, correct? And by extension, your brother, Qrow, is it? He was on the team as well?” Weiss asked, wanting to focus more so on who was on said team, and what they did, the way Raven described it sending shivers down her spine.

Raven nodded. “And Summer Rose was our leader.” There was an odd tone to her voice when she spoke the name, poorly disguised respect and grief for the fallen huntress. “Team STRQ, one of the best teams to graduate Beacon. Half of them killers and thieves sent to Beacon to kill the very people they were training to be. Half of them the picture of what huntsmen and huntresses ought to be. And look at them now.” She smirked. “The Wizard has a bad habit of breaking his toys and discarding them.”

“Summer Rose… Wait… Isn’t that Ruby’s mother? She led the team you were on?” Weiss asked, utter disbelief in the fact that the bandit leader sat before her, was part of a team led by Ruby’s mother. Shaking her head, Weiss needed answers, one more pressing than confirmation of the team Raven was on. “Who is this ‘wizard’? You’ve mentioned him more than once since we sat down…”

Raven nodded. “She was our leader.” And the only leader she had ever willingly followed, however rough it may have been at the start. “STRQ, the strongest team to ever graduate Beacon.” There was a hint of bitterness in her voice. “Kind of makes you wonder just how ‘random’ those team assignments really are.” 

She looked at Weiss. “The wizard from the story of the Maidens, among others. He’s lived many lives over the eons, cursed for his cowardice that left us in this mess. He was the King of Vale, once, and founded the Huntsmen Academies. Then he became Headmaster in his last life. The youngest Headmaster on record. Ozpin.”

Raven nodded. “She was. And as for the wizard, he’s gone by many names over the centuries, but now you last knew him as Professor Ozpin.” She took a sip of tea. “Who else would have the ability to bring together such a… fortuitous mix of individuals into one group? The daughter of the former leader of the White Fang, the, well, now former heiress to one of the most powerful and reviled companies in the world, and the daughters of Team STRQ, one of whom is his spare silver-eyed warrior.” Like her brother and Tai, Raven had questions about Summer’s death. Unlike them, she had other ideas on where to look for answers. 

“Ozpin was meant to defeat Salem eons ago. And he failed, and shut himself away like a coward until those four women came along and he decided to start using pawns of his own.” She didn’t try to hide her disgust. “And he’s done little ever since, for all his claims of working against her, all of his methods closely resemble hers.” She took another sip of tea. “They’re two sides of the same coin, and we’re caught in the middle. And now you have to decide what you’re going to do.”

Struggling to process this information, the sheer volume and weight of it immense, Weiss couldn’t help but stay silent, working out what questions to ask, what thoughts to clear, so, with a Herculean sigh, she spoke. “Ozpin being this ‘wizard’, it makes sense, seeing as how cryptic he is, but Salem? Who is that? And what do you mean by ‘eons ago’? There’s no way that Ozpin could be that old... right?”

Taking a brief pause, Weiss found one other question circling her mind, one that maybe couldn’t be answered by Raven, but regardless she asked. “Why me and my friends? What do we have that makes us any use against whatever forces conspiring against mankind? And what are my options? What do I have to decide?”
