Fawn smiled when the man agreed to dance with her. She was fully aware it was a weird ask, but that was how she lived her life. Eccentric and as if she was the main character at all times. If she wasn’t going to treat herself like the best girl in the world, how could she expect anyone else to? “Thank you..” she uttered softly, placing her smaller hand into his and slowly moving along with him in rhythm of the music as they danced. “Thank you again.. for entertaining me and my weird request..” 

Luca tried to make the most out of his life when he could. While he was busy with his business a lot of the time, he tried to fit in small moments of fun like this into his days when he could. Luca continued to move along to the music with Fawn. “No worries, it’s been a while since I’ve danced honestly. It seemed like a good time to.” He told her as it was not as though he had anything against dancing.  “And besides, it’s not as though it was an unreasonable request by any means.”

“I’m sure they wanted you to have fun, in addition to bossing you around.” She suggested with a laugh. “It was.. something.” Leanne nodded, recalling the day she was queen of Fallbrook. “I’m always one for playing dress up. I made a career of it, but I don’t really like being fussed over. It’s not my thing, but I had fun and everyone was so sweet.” Leanne nodded when he spoke of Celine. “ I know, I always wondered what happened to her.” Leanne was happy she’d returned but still had so many questions. “I know you two were close before she left. Maybe now you can get some closure?” 

Luca nodded at her. “Yeah, which I did so I guess it worked.” He added as he’d been having fun at the festival. He was just glad that he got to be part of the festival.  “I think it’s just fun to be able to have fun for a day, but I couldn’t make a life out of it personally.” Luca added as it wasn’t as though he was actually good at acting.  “That makes two of us, because she didn’t exactly give me an explanation before she left. Her and I haven’t talked that much to be honest.” Luca added with a shrug as he’d been mostly avoiding her.

Despite having been working for him for quite some time now, Becky had been quite secluded lately. She would keep her conversations with him to a minimum and really only speak over email or quick texts. It wasn’t that she was upset with him to say the least, she just didn’t know how to open up to him any further after that drunken night of her spewing her issues some time ago. “I’ve just been busy, Luca… I’m sorry..” she said with a soft smile, pulling her phone out to return to the professional realm once again. “You have a few meetings tomorrow, I’m going to do some calendar blocking to make sure you get a little time to eat. Sound good?”

Luca couldn’t help but feel that he’d done something wrong. Despite the fact that they worked together, he felt he saw very little of Becky. Which was a shame, because he did enjoy her company. “It’s okay, I can understand being busy.” He added, as he was often pretty busy himself. Being a business owner has made him pretty busy himself recently. He nodded at her words, because he knew that she was incredibly good at her job. “Thank you, I do appreciate that.  Just make sure that you are also giving yourself time to eat, okay?”  Luca added as he didn’t want Becky to overwork herself.

Enzo’s morning had been pretty productive so far. He managed to grab breakfast with his girl, attended a meeting with his father via Zoom, and deposited the weekly profits into the gym’s business account. The male felt like he was on cloud nine. As he exited the bank, Enzo saw his friend Luca and gave him a wave. “Hey, Luca, how are you doing, amico?”

Luca had been running some errands for the day and was just finishing up when he saw Enzo exit the bank. “Hey, I’ve been doing alright. I have been busy, but that’s to be expected I suppose.” He said with a small shrug because he was used to being busy at this point. “How about yourself?”

Luca made his way out of the office and into the afternoon sun. When he turned the corner he noticed a familiar face that he hadn’t seen in a while. He sent them a smile as he made his way closer. “Hey, long time no see.” He said as he sent a small wave. “What have you been up to lately? I almost feel like you’ve been hiding from me.” Luca joked with a small chuckle.

Willow pushed some of her loose blonde  strands behind her ear, while her blue hues went to  lock onto his. “I am glad.. Would have been a shame if it was.” She added with a slightly nervous chuckle. “I know right?! People rarely pay attention these days. But I am glad I bumped into you and not one of those street lamp poles.” She chuckled sweetly. 

“I think we’ve have all just grown a little too comfortable with our phones.”  Luca replied as that seemed to be the case when most people were lost in their own little world.  That or it was people daydreaming. “Phone poles tend to be less forgiving than I am, so it seems you lucked out.”

 If Isla was honest, she wasn’t as good with dates and such  compared to her brother. Maybe he was just being nice to her, but the shock on her face would clearly have given her away. “It certainly has..” She nodded in agreement. “Okay, a trip we can do…” It was their parents after all and they had always been kind to them and their friends growing up. “What did you have in mind then? Anywhere particular?” She was hoping he wasn’t thinking of a trip to Europe as Isla could barley afford to support  her own life style at the moment.

Luca nodded at her as he was glad that his sister was coming around. “Like I said, that place we went to as kids is a good option. It’s not far from here, and I think they’d have a good time.” He said as he thought his parents would enjoy walking down memory lane without having to worry about kids running around. “But I am also open to other suggestions on where we could send them.”

Maverick just finished a long day at work, to be honest it felt like the longest day at work he’s had in months. He had two people call out of the brewery that morning. The opening bartender, and the opening barback so he was stuck wearing many hats. Owner, manager, bartender, barback, as well as opening the bar, and running to bus tables. How he did it I’m not sure. He was having a bit of a headache, so to be honest he just wanted to get home to relax. Stopping at the convenience store he was waiting in line behind someone with two cold brew coffees, chocolate donuts, and a snickers when he noticed someone staring at her. She looked up, quirking an eyebrow “you know if you keep staring like that and I am going to think that I either have something on my face or you’re in love with me.”

Luca hadn’t been sleeping well, so he was pretty exhausted. Which is exactly as he had ended up at the store. He was coming here to get one of those energy bars that claimed to help keep you awake. However, half way through his trip to the store he sort of zoned out and forgot what he was doing. Luca was awoken from his sleep induced daze when he heard Maverick speaking to him. “Oh sorry, I zoned out.  I didn’t mean to stare at you.” He said quickly as he hadn’t realized that he’d been looking at Maverick the whole time.  “No need to worry about it, there isn’t anything on your face.” Luca added in case it was something that he was actually concerned with.

Alicia had just gotten off a long day at work, and her two options were go home and watch Netflix with a bottle of wine or go to the bar and get a drink and attempt to meet some people, so she chose going out. Alicia glanced down at her phone as it rung again, groaning audibly as she rejected the call, stuffing it into her purse this time. “Sorry, where were we?” She smiled, her voice pleasant, flirtatious, her smile matching perfectly with a sweet innocence before she brought her drink to her lips, tongue swirling to find the straw.

Luca had decided to go out for a couple of drinks after work as he’d had a bit of a rough day. Once he’d reached the bar he’d run into Alicia, and the two of them had been talking when her phone rang.  “I was just asking you how you’ve been.” He told her with a small smile. Luca was the type of person who always wanted to know how others were, because if things weren’t well he liked to try to be able to fix it.

“Honestly, That’s fitting. You’ve got the hair for it.” She grinned, thinking about how she’d gotten her grandkids ready to be little animals on the Easter float. “It was something, to say the least. They gave a crown and a throne.” She thought about it and laughed. It had been fun, she’d worn a lovely dress and had so much fun knighting people. “Me either, but when I heard I thought of you.” She was sad to hear that hadn’t spoken yet. “I’m glad she’s home. I was really shocked when she disappeared.”

“Maybe that was their logic, or maybe my employee just wanted a chance to boss me around, who knows?” Luca replied with a small chuckle. It had been fun to joke around with Becky all day.  “It sounds like you were really living the dream for a day then.” He added as he wasn’t all that surprised that the town had gone all out. That seemed to be the type of thing that Fallbrook loved.  “It was a bit of a shock to be honest. I didn’t think that she’d ever come back. Not after all this time.”

Music was something that soothed Fawn’s soul no matter what she was going through. Fighting with her friends? She would write a song or put on her favorite Olivia Newton-John song. It was no different these days, feeling as though she was at a complete crossroads with her own personal thoughts and feelings. So, she stopped at the best diner in town and popped a quarter into the jukebox, ‘Hopelessly Devoted To You’ starting immediately and she smiled.  She looked over to the random person at the table near where she was sitting and tilted her head. “I know this is random, but care to slow dance with a sad girl?” she asked, laughing lightly and clearing her throat. She was aware it was an incredibly odd ask, but she figured the worst they could say was ‘no’.

Luca was in the diner finishing off his lunch when he heard music starting to come from the Jukebox. He’d almost forgotten about the fact that it was there entirely, so it was nice to hear someone take advantage of it. What he hadn’t expected was to be asked to dance, but since he was done his food and didn’t have anywhere to be, it wasn’t like he had anything to lose.  “Sure, why not.” He responded as maybe he’d at least be able to make her day a little bit better. Luca liked to be able to improve people’s lives, even if it was just something small like this. He got up from his table and held out his hand for her to take.

For the first time in what felt like years Nathan was off on a weekend. Off, off. Not on call, not off at night. Off as in Friday to Sunday he didn’t have to do anything at the hospital. So this past weekend was spent binging tv shows on Netflix and eating junk food cause he knew full well what Monday would bring. Nathan loved his job as a surgeon, but he also dreaded the start of a long week after a long weekend off. So he was going to spend the last bit of his weekend having a fun time. “I actually haven’t left my room is two days and I can official say I’ve lived the hermit -man-cave life. You know it’s frowned upon? Total bull shit. I just ate my weight in popcorn and binged watched the first four seasons of Law and Order SVU. Olivia Benson damn, she can come arrest me anytime she wants.” Nathan said laughing. “Anyways how was your weekend?”

Luca let out a small chuckle at Nathan’s words. “It sounds like you enjoyed yourself a great deal, I’m happy for you.” He told the other as he knew it was important to take time to relax.  “Doing nothing for two days is nothing to be frowned upon honesty. It’s important that people allow themselves to relax every once in a while.” He added as relaxing helped people reset their mindset. Luca felt that not enough people allowed themselves to relax, which caused burnout.  But then again, he was a bit of a hypocrite because he often didn’t take an many breaks that he should.  “I did some relaxing myself actually. I spent most of Saturday just sitting around and reading a book.” Luca added as it had been nice. “I have some errands to do later as a result though, but that’s not a big deal.”

Where: Outside Sunset spa ( Lorian is fiddling with a sign)

Typical, things always mess up on a Friday, a day where the clients were getting ready for the weekend, the spa was booked up for a relaxing to the max and its then the sunset spa and salon sign blows a bulb. “ Ohhh perfect.” Lorian rolled his eyes with a sigh as he looked up at the sign with his hands on his hips. “ I need this like I need a hole in the head.” He grumbled and caught his reflection in the window and fluffed his hair a little before grabbing a ladder and climbing up and playing with the bulb as he did this saw someone walk past and smiled. “ The only screw I’m getting this weekend.” He chuckled and twisted the bulb till it lit up again then climbed down the ladder. “Let there be light,” He  said and then smiled at the person. “Hi, How are ya? you look great today.”

Luca had decided to drop by the spa to get a gift card for his mother.  He figured with Mother’s Day coming up soon it seemed like a good purchase, and he had the afternoon off so it was a good time to come by.  He watched the man fiddling with the sign and had to resist the urge to ask him if he needed any help. By nature Luca was just a helper, but he knew that it wasn’t always his place to do so.  “Hey, I am doing alright.” He told Lorian, unsure what he was supposed to say.  “I suppose giving myself the afternoon off might have helped with that.” Luca added with a small shrug as he didn’t feel that he looked any different than usual.

“A burrito,” he mulled over the thought of the food item with a smile on his face. “That doesn’t sound like a bad idea,” he told Luca with a chuckle, “and a sweet treat,” Darius like the way the other was thinking. “I think I can be on board with this. The burrito is just filling enough to hold you over until you can get dessert, right? At least by the time you walk to the next truck.” 

Luca nodded at him because he agreed. “I feel like burritos are pretty good everywhere, but I also love something sweet. So I am pretty powerless when it comes to this, and will be getting both.” He added as he just wanted to make the most out of things.  “Yes exactly, it’s really the perfect plan.”

He chuckled softly. “That it doesn’t. Rarely happened when I was in New York.” He said and smiled at the man before nodding. “Good. That’s always the way to go about things.” He said with a smile before nodding. “I’m good. Getting ready for finals with school and then I’ll be off for the summer. Might do the community theater. Other than that, I don’t have anything to complain about myself.”

“I don’t think I’d survive a week living in New York.” Luca replied as he thought he’d get way to overwhelmed and be too scared to ask anyone for help. He wasn’t great when it came to asking others for help. “Well, that is pretty exciting then. I wish you the best of luck with your finals.” Luca said, thankful that he was to the point in his life where he was done with finals and things.  “Sometimes having nothing to complain about is all we can ask for.”

“You’re an Angel. Mind helping me with this one then?” Leanne stood up and motioned to one of the medium sized ones off to the side. “I’m sure you did great. Who do they have you dressing up as? I’ve been many different characters on Easter floats. They made me the queen of Fallbrook once.” She laughed at the memory. “Did you see Melisa was back in town?” Leanne had just found her ourself and knew the two had some unfinished business.

Luca nodded before he went to pick up the tree in question. “I was the lead knight.” He explained as it had been fun to dress up for a few hours. Although Luca was far more comfortable in his regular clothes.  “Although, I must admit being royalty of Fallbrook for an afternoon does sound a little more interesting.” He added with a small chuckle before he nodded his head at Leanne’s comment. “I did see she was back, yes. I haven’t seen her around for a while though.”

 “Wait –” Isla frowned. “Their anniversary? I thought that wasn’t for another month?” But hen again besides her own, Luca’s and some of her closer friends birth days, she was useless with dates. “Um –” She paused, trying to run numbers in her head to see if she’d be able to make it work. “Yeah sure.. I think that could work.” Then again she had never been very good at maths either. “Oh yeah no for sure! It’s not like we could send them to Williamsburg for the weekend at a nice restaurant.” She low key suggested.

Luca let out a small chuckle. “It really sneaked up on us this year.” He told her as he felt that this year was going incredibly fast. He felt that he’d blink and then the next thing he knew it was going to summer. “I just want for them to have a good trip.” He added as he felt that their parents deserved it.  “I am sure that they will appreciate whatever we do, to be fair. But I think more than dinner is necessary here.”
