Jobs, Jobs, Jobs~!

Random HCs of our Main 6 out there bringin’ home the bacon!! XDD

Asra 

Has something like 6 part-time jobs. Never seems to ever go in with all the free time he apparently has, but is somehow employee of the month at all of them and is beloved by his co-workers

The jobs that require a uniform, he makes tiny matching hats/snake sweaters for Faust so she can match

The only pharmacy tech at his nearest Walgreens that can read Julian’s prescriptions for patients. They pay him extra for this XDDD

All of his bosses are near mental breakdowns because each time they think they see Faust, she hides before they can get too close, and Asra just plays along as if they’re all hallucinating

Once sold the most mattresses of any other rep on the sales floor simply by napping on one through his whole shift. His boss was pissed until he saw that day’s sales numbers. Then he was just confused as to why it worked

Also occasionally does the ‘living statue’ gig at the park so he can legally fuck with people, and hang out with Muriel at the same time

Nadia

CEO of her own company: 7th Wonder, a subsidiary of Satrinava Industries

Company specializes primarily in intricate home decor, but also has branches dedicated to puzzles/toys for all ages, as well as fashion and fashion accessories

Often forgets to take proper care of herself, so Portia schedules spa days on her behalf so she can force herself to relax once in a while

Asra also works for her in the creative department. He’s almost never there, but he produces results, so she doesn’t complain

Can and will lose all track of time if she’s on a role with a new concept/design direction for one of her products. Portia sometimes needs to text her to remind her that the office closed down for the day hours after it happened so Nadia can finally go home get some sleep

Has invested in Portia and Muriel’s businesses. She’s a woman who believes in quality, and both of them regularly deliver

Julian

Most infamous doctor in his area; doesn’t matter if you love him or hate him, everyone knows him and has at least one story that involves him

Worked as a barista at his on campus Starbucks during medical school. Helped to get Portia a job there so they could see each other more

Learned about Doctor’s Shorthand writing in med school and took to it like a fish to water. Would literally turn in his essays and homework written in it, and though impressive, it ticked off the teachers because they always had to translate it before grading

Has used slide whistles and other toys when speaking to young kids who come in and need to be seen. The best doc to see your kid. He’s so good with them, and it’s adorable to watch

Keeps a pair of cheap reading glasses in his pocket so he can put them on, then take them off dramatically when talking to patients/other doctors

You are lying to yourself if you think this man hasn’t danced his way from one end of the hospital to the other. He has also moonwalked into a medical consultation once or twice

Portia

Worked with Julian at Starbucks during school. She was promoted to supervisor during their last year

Self employed after Nadia invested in her specially created craft beer based on an old Nevivon recipe

Has only one manufacturing warehouse and visits regularly to make sure the quality stays high

Was given a parcel of land purchased by Nadia to grow and cultivate everything Portia needed to get the beer flowing. Often talks to Muriel about making sure the hopps and other plants stay happy and healthy

A Pirate Pepi is printed on the stout labels, and the Pale Ale has her dream cottage

Also has her own YouTube channel dedicated to the how-tos of living the cottage core life in the big city, as well as how to easily start making your own beer on a budget. She just received her 10 millionth subscriber congratulatory button

Muriel

Self employed with his own small landscaping business: Kokhuri Gardens and Landscaping

Is convinced that despite his hard work, people don’t trust him to do the job right since all the housewives/househusbands just keep watching him the whole time

In the winter when work is slow, he specializes in intricate ice sculptures. Nadia usually purchases a few to place outside her home and business headquarters

Worked at a farm and petting zoo before getting into landscaping. The owners let him take home a few chickens when he resigned because they liked him so much

Still isn’t sure if he really understands why the whole Zen Garden thing caught on when naturals look so much better, but as long as the plants are happy…?

Once let Asra talk him into jumping the wall to Lucio’s mansion to sneak into the garden and cut off all his topiary heads. They were never caught

Lucio

Had like, one truly good million dollar idea, and it was just enough to get him the start up and connections he needed to fuel his true passion: owning a nightclub

Was completely wasted when he had the idea, so he can’t remember what it was,  but was apparently lucid enough to get the deal down in writing, so he had a contract of sorts that allowed him a sizeable cut of the profit

Absolutely had to have two giant statues of M&M on either side of the main bar. They’re huge and literally reach from the floor to the ceiling

Every inch of the interior is dripping with scarlet red, gold accents, and black and white marble

Also purchased a local winery so he could have some of the best vintages offered at his nightclub for bottle service. Hired Valerius to manage it when they were dating

Is still completely freaked out about the collection of severed topiary heads that were found lined up and facing his mansion’s front door. Especially since all of them were of him. Absolutely refuses to answer the front door by himself because of this

Arya’s masquerade gown and mask!!! this is the final design I promise??

I was stuck on which animal to base her mask on until I thought of seabirds, and from there it was a short jump to the waved albatross. They mate for life, and have a spectacular courtship dance and I get to be fake deep with a Rime of the Ancient Mariner reference

I could basically write an essay on this design- so much thought and research went into it. Next step- draping and patterning!

Magic styles for my apprentices!

Arya (Asra’s route): music based. She prefers to sing while casting, and in situations where she can’t, she taps out rhythms with her hands or feet

Ariannah (Nadia’s route): more abstract. To her, casting feels like electricity passing through her. She also likes to make sigils

Lynx (Muriel’s route): her magic is more physical, with a heavy focus on components. So the whole magic arrows thing was difficult for her to learn, but having an actual bow helped

Aira (Julian’s route): has an affinity for plants. Good at helping them grow and likes using them in her spells. Visualizes her magic as seeds sprouting

Asra ~

ASRA FUCKING CHEATS

I’m sorry but he fucking cheats my dude

Opening portals and shit to go from right in front of you to directly behind you

Uses his water magic to melt snowballs mid-air

Also blocks your snowballs with magic shields 

Periodically calls a truce so he can use his magic to warm up your hands (he really just wants to hold your hand)

Only gets hit if he’s momentarily distracted by how cute your face looks all flushed from the cold

Always aims for your butt, and then insists on helping you wipe the snow off *knifecat face*

Julian ~

Safety first, so only soft snowballs and never aims for the head

Tries to create Rules but no one listens

The flustered Mother Hen that keeps trying to shout over the chaos and enact some order

Takes several snowballs to the face and when he wipes the snow away, he’s making that completely exasperated, You People Give Me Headaches face

Slips, trips, falls into a snowbank, all more than once

Repeatedly gets a snowball to the nape of his Long Ass Necc just as he’s rearing back to fire one off, and yelps like a little girl

Is so boney and skinny that he can’t actually snowball fight for too long, his fingers and toes start to go purple

Afterward insists on providing everyone with hot mugs of cocoa through chattering teeth

Will tell everyone at the Raven that he won when he most definitely did not

Nadia ~

Master coordinator. Team matches only. Obviously team captain. 

Has a detailed Snowball Assault Mission Strategy that involves blueprints of the palace grounds with vantage points, high grounds, shelter, and neutral ground mapped and marked

Everyone is WAY too scared to actually try to hit the Countess with a freezing ball of mush, except for Portia

Nadia HATES that everyone is letting her win and threatens to find a magician powerful enough to indefinitely eliminate snow from Vesuvia’s weather forecast if they don’t give her all they’ve got

Nadia’s snowballs are compact and her hits precise, and she’s not above building a snow shelter and waiting for the enemy team to tire out

Before she finally unleashes a device of her own invention, a clever snowball-hurling little handheld catapult 

Isn’t ashamed to hit you right in the face. If you let your guard down with the Countess and get got, that’s on you

Muriel ~

That’s gonna be a no from Muri.

This is like…. Not his scene. Call him if you want to build a snowpal.

If it’s just you, him, and Inanna out in front of the hut though… watching Nanna joyously leap into the air to bite snowballs will make him chuckle to himself.

Maybe, just maaaaaaybe after that you might get him to toss a snowball or two. 

Every snowball you hit him with seems to slide off him with no effect. He’ll give you that, “Really? Really?” kind of look

He might kind of… half heartedly toss a soft handful of snow in your general direction, but if anything he’s aiming for the snowdrift ten feet to your left 

Way more excited about the aftermath of helping you warm up in the hut afterwards

Portia ~ 

The Melee Kill queen of snowball fights

She’s not holding back, and she’s not tiring out. If you’re in a team match, she’s the first one you should pick and the one you should be the most afraid of

Her short stature makes for excellent stealth mode, she’ll be underfoot and filling your boots with slush before you know what hit you

Snow down the back of your shirt? Signature Portia Move

Every hit she takes makes her twice as determined to hit back with twice as much force

Keeps a running tally in her head of who’s landing hits on her, but always targets Julian above all others

When you all tire out and finally head inside, she’s the drill sergeant ordering everyone out of their wet clothes, into their pajamas, and seated in front of the fire for a hot meal, pronto

Lucio ~

Takes it way. Way. Way too seriously.

Suffers numerous penalties for making his snowballs too hard, or trying to hide small rocks in them.

Talks a big game of strategic offensive approach, enemy lines, “Back in my merc days…”

But the second he takes a single snowball to his pristine ermine cape, he’s the biggest, winiest baby on the field

Stomps and grumbles his way back towards the palace with his servants in tow, yelling about getting his cape to the furrier for cleaning immediately

Proceeds to grumble from the palace windows overlooking the snowball fight with a glass of wine in hand, muttering to himself about how “unfair” the match was and “he didn’t wanna play anyways.”

Probably holds a grudge over it for like, months
