Damn it, Death Grips. As a victim of DG's cancellation at their recent Boston date, I don't WANT to like Death Grips at this point. They clearly treat their fans disrespectfully - yeah, they have an 'I don't give a fuck' attitude, but at what cost?

But if they keep releasing such innovative music like this new track, it's gonna be more and more hard for me to try to dislike them.

I tend to find that everything producer Bonobo does is absolutely astonishing. Although I feel his recent LP The North Borders isn't quite up to par with his previous work like Black Sands, the album still shows off Bonobo's genre-merging style with beautifully crafted guest spots.

In this performance on KEXP, Bonobo has Szjerdene replace Grey Reverend's part in "First Fires" and the result is incredible.

I remember years ago when I first discovered The Books and was so amazed by their uniqueness and utterly diverse approach to music. Recently, I've been listening to a lot of The Gaslamp Killer for the same reason and today I discovered Foodman.

His zany style is certainly not for everyone, but I can't help but deeply appreciate his quirkiness. Check him out.

Not long ago, my two favorite artists at the time did a collab and my head exploded: James Blake and Bon Iver. But now after listening to it and familiarizing myself with the song "Fall Creek Boys Choir", I've kind of realized that maybe their individual greatness should have been kept to themselves.

Today, I was presented with a similar situation: the new Jon Hopkins/Purity Ring collab, or rather, Purity Ring singing over a Jon Hopkins song. Purity Ring's Shrines was my favorite album of 2012 and Jon Hopkins' Immunity is certainly ranked very highly on my list of 2013 so far, so how should I respond to this new version of "Breathe This Air" that now features Purity Ring? Does the melodic, poppy pattern of Purity Ring's previous work mix well with Jon Hopkins' minimalistic electronic beat making? grbrlrbarlbrarblrrabrlabrbalel

It's hard for me not to express anything but disappointment regarding Animal Collective's recent work. From Centipede Hz to their live set at Governor's Ball, everything seems to be lacking when compared to Merriweather Post Pavilion. But I guess anything that anyone will ever do will never compare to MPP.
