This is the little fox I mentioned the other day. He's a Canadian Marble Fox. (Well one coat pattern anyway) They are super cute and you should definitely look them up.

A creature so rare, it can only be born when a rainbow flits across the moon. Thankfully the team at TMKD are experts at causing rare circumstances to suddenly become not so rare. I give you, the rainbow Phoenix.

I'm hiding away in my little craft cubby right now. Starting a new pouch for the lovely Claude and then I'll be painting some specialty Woodbabies that'll be going to Hoggstown this weekend. ;3

Also finished a lovely little fox today, I forgot to take pictures before I left but I'll get and post some at first (decent) light tomorrow. ~V

This is the specialty dragon belonging to one of our shop/faire workers, Claude.

Claude had been wanting this guy for quite some time, but the circumstances were always wrong. Just before Christmas we were able finally able to finish this guy for him. Claude was very insistent on not looking as his dragon was painted and furred, so it was quite fun to see his face.

So cold...

WELL, the shop was closed "today" (Tuesday) and will be closed "tomorrow" (Wednesday) as well.

I have one interesting bit of information from monday.

There are currently 119 finished bosom bats waiting to be shipped to shows.

A HUNDRED AND NINETEEN bosom bats.

I don't have an exact number yet but I have a feeling that hatch gryphons will be similar in number just by looking bat the piles of them all curled up to stay warm.

Did no one adopt bats and hatch gryphons this past fall? They greatly outnumber the other wood babies...hmmm....

One more day until the shop opens up again. Personally I am quite ready to get back to work. Faire season’s coming up and I’ve been itching to see some friendly faces. (And home plenty of woodbabies of course.) Also I’ll have actual material for you guys. Won’t that be nice? The inside scoop on what we talk about while creating all our lovely creatures. Any guesses what we converse about? ~V

So I'm sitting in my kitchen painting some hatch foxes (yes, painting  at nearly 12 at night is a normal thing for me) and my paint brushes keep falling apart!  How am I supposed to work like this?

The 100,000-to-one black barn owl

All barn owls are precious, but none more than this jet-black two year old.

Sable has melanism - a 100,000-to-one gene mutation that makes her the opposite to an albino.

Black owls are usually killed as chicks by their mothers who reject their colouring.

Just today I painted a Large Barn Owl. Normal colors (the white/cream one). I would love the chance to paint that rare black Barn Owl right there if I get the chance.
