Happiness isn’t a destination but a state you choose.
California ain’t too shabby for a shithole …would def shit again.
Thanksgiving
BY EDGAR ALBERT GUEST
Gettin’ together to smile an’ rejoice,
An’ eatin’ an’ laughin’ with folks of your choice;
An’ kissin’ the girls an’ declarin’ that they
Are growin’ more beautiful day after day;
Chattin’ an’ braggin’ a bit with the men,
Buildin’ the old family circle again;
Livin’ the wholesome an’ old-fashioned cheer,
Just for awhile at the end of the year.
Greetings fly fast as we crowd through the door
And under the old roof we gather once more
Just as we did when the youngsters were small;
Mother’s a little bit grayer, that’s all.
Father’s a little bit older, but still
Ready to romp an’ to laugh with a will.
Here we are back at the table again
Tellin’ our stories as women an’ men.
Bowed are our heads for a moment in prayer;
Oh, but we’re grateful an’ glad to be there.
Home from the east land an’ home from the west,
Home with the folks that are dearest an’ best.
Out of the sham of the cities afar
We’ve come for a time to be just what we are.
Here we can talk of ourselves an’ be frank,
Forgettin’ position an’ station an’ rank.
Give me the end of the year an’ its fun
When most of the plannin’ an’ toilin’ is done;
Bring all the wanderers home to the nest,
Let me sit down with the ones I love best,
Hear the old voices still ringin’ with song,
See the old faces unblemished by wrong,
See the old table with all of its chairs
An’ I’ll put soul in my Thanksgivin’ prayers.

Traveling is expensive therapy….
Where are your travel destinations in 2025?
Power
I called you first, I called you last…
I asked you first…. I asked you last ..
I did it last time… why do I have to do it ?
Push & pull . we see it in relationships, family, sports, classrooms..etc
A demonstration of power or the need to feel in control .
Isn’t self control enough ? We can’t control others or what others do..
But our response…..that’s all ME ….i mean ..YOU
No need to take your power back…. You never LOST it …
A McDonald’s across the street from a gym…… motivation or temptation…it’s all a matter of ….perspective.
“You cannot find peace by avoiding life.”

The Culture Projxt
(A Personification of Black Culture)
Culture is represented in many ways, leadership, music, food, sports, entertainment, fashion, and entertainment. This project features some of the people that embody Black Culture, present, and past.
Chadwick Boseman brought us heroes of Jackie Robinson, Thurgood Marshall, and Black Panther. Telling the story and portraying the struggles of our heroes despite having his own and becoming one in the process.
Shirley Chisholm a dynamic person who shook the political identity of this country, defying odds at every turn. She was the first black woman in Congress and the first woman and African American to run for president under one of the two major political parties.
Lebron James, “just a kid from Akron”, who lifted an entire generation. Who’s off the court moves might be more impressive than his insane NBA resume. From building schools and funding college tuition for disadvantaged kids in the black community, using his platform to speak out against injustices within the black community Mr. James is the pride of Ohio and a pillar of our community and of course, way more than just an athlete.
Lauryn Hill, one of the greatest musical minds to bless us with her unique style and unmatched poetic and vocal talents. Lauryn brought us the Fugees, the top selling rap album of all time, and single handedly brought Black Feminism to forefront of the music industry. An absolute genius and the mother of “Neo-Soul” she inspired a generation by voicing her experience of the pressures of an industry against her choice of motherhood and choosing happiness.
MLK a man of purpose and catalyst of change for an entire nation. From a “Birmingham Jail to Washington” he galvanized a never-ending movement with a single goal in mind, equality. His life was taken because of it and his legacy has had a lasting effect of changing the experience of black and all people of color in America.
These 5 amazing people are the inspiration for “The Culture Projxt” Stay Tuned…
Bonus: There are 9 easter eggs embedded in this art, can you find them all?

Off the top!
So 2020 is done and over with, so much to talk about but let's move on. 2021 is here and in full swing, the beautiful thing about swings as in baseball, they give you strikeouts but they also give you home runs and GRAND FREAKIN SLAMS. Some people were unemployed and some became millionaires, the old saying " it's not how you start it's how you finish" but let's have a hell of a start! Make your goals, resolutions, promises, and WRITE THEM DOWN for you to see and read DAILY. Get organized, redesign your room or workspace start a project or 10. Get some momentum going in this new year and rack up wins. Anticipate the best and brush off the bad. This marks the beginning of a new decade where will you be ...more importantly who will you be in 10 years?
Back to It
Not only do you stop missing, if you quit swinging, but you stop connecting too. I've taken a hiatus channeled by laziness, so better I must be. Being busy is a sorry excuse and just by sheer mention of the phrase, is me having one. I hope to answer the call more valiantly in the coming days. Thank you for reading.
Don’t wait
Regret is like an unquenchable thirst, a ceaseless hunger, an unsolvable problem that energy is surely wasted on. As much as we are told or know that forward is the only way, what is behind us tends to be just as pressing. It’s only natural to lament what could’ve been, or saying; "I should have done this differently", especially when an opportunity was missed or something bad happened. There is a saying you can’t saw sawdust or don’t cry over spilled milk, quotes that encourage us to forget our mistakes or regrets. While these are great reminders, I would challenge you to minimize these happenings by taking decisive action, jumping at opportunities, making mistakes with conviction, and boldness. The reality of not messing up is ridiculous, but if we swing for the fences the outcome is not as important. To try hard and to fail is learning, to not give it a full go, is well, in the end, regret. (Shoot for the moon, aim for the stars)
