Star-crossed soulmates, bound through a divine oath stitching their very souls to one another, find out first-hand what it's like to be unequally devoted.
My take on the horrible tragedy of true love gone awry. Amanda is the reincarnation of Clare and she's the life that's finally going to end the curse that is her pathetic Ex's life.
Or so she hopes.
More under the cut.
Clare remains steadfast in her loyalty to Gaius. She yearns for nearly two decades and gives up only because she is an old maid and can imagine no one wanting her. She joins an abbey with what little money she has and is sent away.
Gaius falters quickly, corrupted by his fellow crusaders and shortly finds himself seeking company in brothels and the bottom of tankards to assuage his guilt. He doesn't let himself think about the love waiting for him, because she has far better options back home.
It's a shame, when he leaves the service of the crown, that he has no options but to become a mercenary. And even more of a shame, that when he's ordered to raid an Abbey that's been getting a little too friendly with the Pagans in Ireland, that he doesn't recognize his other half.
He cuts her down in cold blood, only for a god/ess to step down from their holy throne and curse him for betraying someone as true and good as his heart's desire. Since he fears consequences and death so deeply, he will never die, except by her hand.
The God takes pity on Clare and gifts her with reincarnation, since her life was spent waiting on a man who would never honor his oath, and should he ever come crawling back, well... she needn't suffer him long.
Amanda is the latest life, who was offered the burden of knowledge to slay her other half. The divine oath collars her from being able to live freely, and even before she knew him, she felt him. Felt that loyalty to him.
And, frankly, Amanda wants him dead. She'll make it happen. Clare needs to be avenged. And no one else is going to do it.

THANK YOU @themorbidart !!!!! I am in love with how you drew them and Iām gonna hang this on my wall (that isnt a joke).
These are two of my OCs, Adrian and Elysande :) lore drop under the cut if anyone is interested!!
Okay this will be brief because there is actually a lot about them. So here are the spark notes šš Oh, one thing, I originally created these characters for a DND setting so itās a bit of that vibe and world. But itās mutated and grown beyond that now⦠run
Elysande is the second born of the royal family in a sunny, bustling coastal city. However, due to a dangerously early birth and her albinism (which makes her sensitive to sunlight and also astigmatism, among other things), her family is very protective of her, and since she was little, shes had a personal guard of the Aurelian order (i could talk about the order a lot, just know itās a very high ranking knight/paladin order)
When she was little, it was Adrianās father. When Adrian came of age, the torch passed to him and he became Elysandeās personal guard.
Adrian is the typical lawful good knight kind of guy. He was largely raised by his mother (since his dad was almost always at the castle), a strong-hearted woman who taught him patience, watchfulness, and discipline. Both of his parents live together now, running a shop in the next town over for adventurers.
Adrian is a quiet man, reserved and thoughtful. He loves all forms of nature, and is a masterful knight. (You dont get to be an Aurelian Knight without being incredible). Adrian lives by his oaths, finds joy and direction in them, and is proud to be an Aurelian Knight. He is proud to protect Elysande, although to be honest, she doesnāt need much protection. Their kingdom has been a peaceful one, with a bright future. But heās happy to do it anyway, because Elysande makes it worth it.
Shes smart as a whip, a good listener, and can read people well enough to give Adrian a run for his money. She loves to read, but because of her astigmatism, she has someone read for her. Originally it was some other servants job, but one day, Adrian took it over (at her request) and hadnāt stopped since.
They are in a sloooow burn. They love each other dearly, and Elysande is much more open about it than Adrian is, making doe eyes at him and keeping him closer than is really necessary. Adrian is much shyer about it. Romance is not like the rules of swordplay. Itās finicky and fluid and frankly, nerve wracking. And then thereās the whole thing about how technically they should not even be thinking of romance, due to her status as a princess and future queen of another kingdom. Knight and princess flings are not unheard of, but it is hard to initiate something when you know it will end someday. It is even harder to do so when the love you have for the other is so complete, so consuming, that you fear that if you give in, it will leave you empty and blank once it is taken away.
Anyway. Cue mutual pining but one sided flirting but also the dread of knowing it will all end sooner rather than later but also wait are we kissing after the ball rn?? Thats a story for a different time. A PP is needed.
Thereās also an actual story besides the romance that includes anger and betrayal and dark magic and faked deaths and journeys fueled by love and a desperate hope and a terrible, terrible choice with no good answer.
Ugh I love these guys sm. THANK YOU MORBID ART!!!!!!!! Because of this art Iām making it canon that Adrianās blush is VERY obvious (teehehehheheee)
If you read this I love youuuuu!!! <<<333 (and yes this is the spark notes. There is so. Much. More.)
I was going for a very 80s timeline for him, but, ngl, I think he'd dress like this no matter what timeline or period he was in (after the 80s at least). Calvin is a creature of habit and comfort and he knows what makes him feel comfortable, after all.
He wears blazers and jackets when he's working, though. He knows how accountants should look and as much as he'd like to pretend to be hip and cool and 'with it', he's not. All those emotions? Yeah, you as the average person won't ever see it lo.
Bonus sketch of him below with his readers on because he's so cute and also a dweeb <3

@temphire Heheheh. Thank you so much ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø i think the jaw muscles are called jowls? Thatās what Iāve been calling them at least! And his best features: his eyelashes. When he doesnāt have resting āmurder youā face, he looks like an angel.
Example:
So, this character is obviously Calvin Newark! And sorry for the confusion, but he IS a vampire, but he USED to be a Vampire the Masquerade (VTM) ttrpg character! The game fell through for a lot of reasons but heās one of my favorite ocs now!
Backstory: cw for abuse, violence, death and some sexual bs, too
Calvin⦠has a long and painful history that is mainly tragedy after tragedy. He was born in the 40s a few years before the war ended. His mother was abusive and his father tried to protect him, but it was clear he was tired of it all. Didnāt help that Calvin was severely neurodivergent in the 40s (autism. didnāt speak til he was four and then spoke full sentences, barely emoted or met peoples eyes, struggled with social queues acted out a lot because of overstimulation).
His father, when he was very young, volunteered for the war effort against his wifeās wishes. He promised heād come back, but never did. Calvinās mother lost her mind and doubled down on her abuse, taking it all out on Cal.
To sum up: he was made to be the breadwinner very young. Against the newish child labor laws. He was ostracized from school because of the fallout his motherās affair with the principal and bullied brutally. He was exposed to his motherās liaisons with strangers and eventually she got so annoyed with him interrupting her in the kitchen or living room that sheād lock every door when she was busy so he couldnāt get in.
Even in winter.
His mom was murdered by one of her lovers when he was 17. Calvin knew who he was but never ratted him out because he was grateful. As sick as that made him feet. The cop who handled the case was very gentle with Calvin and helped him get to a good college. One of the only good cops Calvin ever met (since most his mother seduced when sheād done something shady).
Calvinās only inheritance was a fat load of debt, but that was dismissed because Calvin was a minor whoād just became an orphan. It was the second kindness heād experienced.
He went to school to become an accountant and his sudden freedom was overwhelming. He didnāt do well. He faced the real world and it was just as brutal as his childhood.
He turned to drinking. And he became angrier. And more cynical. Until he turned full on nihilist and started to make theoretical plans. To kill.
And then they werenāt theoretical.
He targeted corrupt cops, predatory journalists, and other corrupt officials. He had been so failed by this system that he wanted to make it so no one else would be. Before he stopped, he killed 15 people, stringing up their bodies in grotesque mimicry of the crimes they committed.
And right when he was going to go out with a bang, the mayor of his city, he was found by Christian Valiant. @puzzlepeaceart ās character.
An ex mafia vampire who sees this poor, depressed, drunk homicidal maniac and says: ā⦠Oh come on, HE LOOKS SADā and adopted him. Calvin accepted his help only because he was too exhausted to run from him and hoped Valiant was lying and would kill him.
Essentially, Valiant offered him eternal life so he could do what he can to help people long term. Calvin accepted and⦠he felt better. The hunger softened his homicidal tendencies⦠and now runs a private accounting firm to help get peopleās finances.
Ascetic: An individual who renounces material comforts and leads a life of austere self-discipline, especially as an act of religious devotion.
Please watch Ersatz (on Youtube). Genuinely. It's so good. It's probably one of my favorite indie projects ever.
And, of course, the waxing poetic, vaguely threatening/intimidating toothy guy stole my heart the moment he popped on screen. I really hope we get to see a lot more with him.
Hiiii!!! I love ur art and I was wondering, is there a place to find out about your commission prices? Iām still deciding what Iād want/ how much I can spend, but Iām definitely interested :)
Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for considering me!!??? Hello?!??
Iām working on two fanfics right now in my spare time (one Shadow the Hedgehog related and the other Transformers) and theyāre both set in ancient castles and I have been doing a TON of research on the anatomy of castlesālearning the purpose of certain architectures and the nomenclaturesāso sometime within the next few days Iāll post some links to my sources because Iāve found some GOOD ONES folks and I know I canāt be the only girly writing fics set in old dusty ass castles.
Received a comment like this on one of my recent posts and thought I'd bring some attention to it.
