I dropped by to let y'all know that I'm discontinuing the blog and the Supernova. Now that they're posting a story of their own, I don't see a reason to do theories, or to write my version of a story when there's an official one.
[I might be dropping out from the fandom, too]
Thank you all for listening to me, and for reading through the theories. Thank you for being there for the artists, and for loving their music and their universe with such passion. They truly deserve all the love you're giving them.
I'm not gonna lie, if they release a book with their storyline and the majority of my theories will prove to be true, I'll be super upset because close to nobody believes me now
Is called "Books" because the boys write their happenings in their diaries, in their notes. So each separate time they travel back, each and every separate time they try to fix things, a new universe and a new story and a new book is created.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write up all of your theories. I always look forward to reading your posts and find them very fascinating. I hope you have a lovely 2019!
Oh god, thank you so much! It's honestly so inspirational and motivating, to know that there are people who find your posts interesting. I hope you have a lovely 2019, too!
I'm here to thank all of you who keep reading my theories, who are here to support BTS, and people who just passed by. You're all so incredible and I love yall. Happy New Year!
To celebrate Taehyung’s birthday, I brought you a smallish theory about his Wings film.
Taehyung’s dream shortly showcased us the essence of his relationship with Namjoon.
Once upon a time, while reading Kafka on the Shore for the first time, I realized that the Wings short films might actually be dreams, not even metaphors, but actual dreams, at least partially. They actually dream those things in their sleep. I don’t remember how I jumped to that conclusion, though. As soon as I remember, I will make a theory about it, too.
Now, if we assume that they are dreams, Taehyung is dreaming of a white dog.
A white dog in a dream is meant to send a message that one’s soul is comfortable. The dog shows protection and warns you of future problems. If the dog in the dream is friendly, it tells you about a proper relationship. If the dog is not close, it warns you about enemy and betrayal.
If we look more specifically at the fact that it’s a puppy, puppies are believed to represent growth/emergence of basic instincts.
An expression “puppy love” is also understood as “a young romance”.
Now, the puppy definitely loves him.
With all these things combined, I’m 99,9% certain the dog represents Namjoon. Because Bangtan Universe!VMon is one of the most obvious things on the planet.
What is Taehyung’s dream trying to tell us, then?
Taehyung is lying on the ground, beaten up, crying. A white puppy comes to him, the puppy obviously loves him, the puppy is playful and gentle and all those nice things. Taehyung is obviously happy with the puppy.
And then, when Taehyung kills his father and the cell falls over him, the puppy just leaves.
In the Notes, it is said that Taehyung called Namjoon, but Namjoon never picked up. Namjoon left him on his own in that cell. Namjoon, who came to him and loved him, and made him happy, left, betrayed him.
.
[An obligatory note that I'm actually trying to write a work based on bu, and I'm leaving you here to contemplate your entire existence]
The masked "liars" and "fakers" are all wearing black robes.
Namjoon and Seokjin are both wearing black jackets with white shirts.
Hoseok and Jimin, on the contrary, are wearing white jackets and black shirts.
Tae is wearing that black sleeveless thing, and JK and YG are both full white.
I say that the people wearing back on the top are the people who lie and pretend the most obviopusly in the universe: Seokjin and Namjoon, closely followed by Tae. They might be lying about anything, about their relationships, about stealing, about being a goddamn god. But underneath these lies, there is something white and pure and honest inside them.
On the other hand, Hoseok and Jimin are [pretending to be] completely honest, but inside them, there is just so much darkness and lies. They are all bright and shiny on the outside, and dark and scary inside.
Jungkook and Yoongi, both dressed fully white, are honest both inside and outside. They just are the way they are, that's it. Perhaps this is also the reason why they are seen to be together in bangtan universe, and why Jimin was leaving Yoongi in BST Japanese.
Alternatively, Taehyung is wearing sleeveless black jacket with long white because he wears his heart on his sleeve, no matter how hard he tries to conceal it.
And then the idea that Seokjin and Namjoon are the ones who tell less truth (feat Taehyung) connects to the concept photos. In this photo, they are the only ones who don't have their hands tied and possibly controlled.
I'm not saying that they are the controllers [somebody once misunderstood my tumblr post with a theory on this photo and it was taken down :)))]. I'm just saying that somehow, they keep their autonomy
Do you ever get this vibe off of Bangtan Universe that maybe Jungkook is the key for them to get out from this hell? But also that Jungkook and Yoongi wouldn't survive without each other.
Which gives me the idea: Jungkook and Yoongi are the ones who could potentially save them. Seokji and Namjoon are the ones who could potentially destroy them, without even meaning to. Hoseok and Jimin are moderating, and Taehyung is just trying to survive, to be honest
I said it thanks for coming to my ted talk
Also, this might sound frantic because I'm just analysing their outfits, but I'm an INTP and my brain made a leap to my previous theories. My brain claims it's iimprtant, so, well
Please give some attention to my bangtan universe au if you have time, and happy holidays 💜
A timeline for the main storyline of Bangtan Universe
[based on the latest performances and releases]
I wrote it through tears. I can’t believe that the band that kept me alive for the whole year was about to disband.
Anyway, here’s a storyline which I’m using for my theories and the fanfiction.
1. Meeting at school for the first time (O!RUL8,2?)
They got a detention for being late; it’s described in one of the Notes
2. Rebelling (N.O.)
Resonates with the idea of children and their fathers expressed in Kafka on the Shore
3. Taehyung kills his father (I NEED U)
4. Taehyung Kills himself (On stage: Prologue)
5. They all do it, eventually (I NEED U)
6. Seokjin turns the time back to the point he thinks is the most suitable (general idea throughout all the MVs)
7. Falling apart [possibly after a fight with Taehyung] (BST Japanese)
7.5. [a parallel universe with the girls is created]
8. Seokjin tries to turn the time back and fix everything to a point when he thinks it all went wrong (I NEED U)
9. He fails – they all die again (I NEED U)
9.5. [the parallel universe still running]
10. Tries again – fail (On stage: Prologue)
11. And again
12. And again
13. It’s impossible to just turn the time back (thank you, Michio Kaku); a parallel universe is created inevitably. So, at this point, there are quite a few parallel universes in existence (DNA)
14. At some point, Seokjin realizes that he can’t do it anymore, and he realizes that he must be doing something wrong because every time he turns the time back, he fails. So, he leaves things to be as they are. (Highlight Reel)
15. The hardest and darkest times, where they’re completely not themselves, and where they just have no idea what they’re doing (Fake Love) [in both universes]
16. At some point, he also realizes that he needs to find the reason for his failure, and he realizes that he needs to go back to where it all started. He realizes that in order for them to be happy, he needs to find the reason why it all went wrong in the first place (Epiphany)
17. He turns the time all the way back to O!RUL8,2? to find the answers.
That’s it for the post! I’ll explain how I arrived to this conclusion a little bit later, the text needs some proofreading!
Thank you to all who appreciates my theories, and thank you, BTS, for staying together.
Nobody cares, but I wanna try a new approach of breaking theories into smaller chunks instead of long text posts. They'll turn into series of connected posts, and it's supposed to be easier to pay attention to. Gonna be easier for me, too.
If you do care, lemme know or something, I'm still awkward around Tumblr
Hi! So I'm relatively new to BTS (at least, the theory sides of them) and I was wondering if you could tell me which MVs are Bangtan Universe videos? Just so I can catch up, If it's not too much trouble
Hello, and welcome to hell uwu
Normally, the Bangtan Universe videos have a special mark. However, you should remember that these are the only the videos that specifically tell the story. So far, to my knowledge, the marked videos are
You are so clever that I'm in point that thinking they are not so clever. It suits perfectly but too good to be true...... are you working for them?
I'm not working for them, though I would be happy to, because I want to personally learn from the people who have created this universe. Thank you for the kind words
I have a prediction that the next era will be very space-oriented- they've made so many references to wormholes (DNA,) eclipses (Serendipity,) stars (Literally half their songs,) moons (everything from tattoos, to videos, songs, and MONO- MOON,) and so much more. It would have more of a sophisticated feel which seems to be what they've been going for recently. What do you think abt future eras?
Thank you for the input, and for the question!
I actually think roughly the same. Although, since Epiphany ended on a "you have to come back to the beginning" note, perhaps we'll see something we've seen already. Whatever it will be, it's going to be great, and it will break our hearts for sure.
“You’re a singing star” is not just a metaphor; stars can actually sing. The problem is, nobody can hear them.
There are two ways in which stars are described to be singing. First is an artificial way, and the second is a natural one.
1.
In an artificial way, astronomers turn the stars’ light into sound. It’s called asteroseismology. Basically, the light impulses created by the star are translated into sound. This helps the scientists say how big the star is, how fast it rotates, the stage of its evolution, and if there are any exoplanets on its orbit.
There is a very good and mind-blowing video that can explain the technology better and with awesome examples.
I am especially in love with the fact that they can determine a star’s point of evolution by these sounds because I should probably do a post on why I believe supernovae are important.
2.
I have then also noted the astronomical theory that the movements of plasma on the surface of a star create this low “humming” sound which nobody can hear because sound doesn’t transmit in space. If it is true or not, I don’t know, but it also fits with Bangtan Universe, in a sense.
This is it for the short post! Please let me know if you’re also amazed by the sounds they use to describe the stars! Do you think this even has a lot of connection to Bangtan Universe? Do you think this is complete bullshit? I’d like to hear all opinions, because only a debate can produce the truth!
Have a nice day, and enjoy the vlive with Tannie :3
This is not about the Bangtan Universe anymore. This is about how they feel as stars on an international stage.
[I wrote this not as a fiction theorist, but as someone who has an Artist Management exam in two weeks]
Good evening, ladies, gentlemen, and their dogs. This is a theory post about the Melon Music Awards performance. Because BTS are BTS and they have turned the national award stage into their mini-concert. Again.
This post focuses only on Who Are You message. For the rest of the performance, please wait a little bit.
This post doesn’t have any media inserted because my computer is being bitchy and not willing to upload anything. I tried to compensate with half-assed sarcasm, I hope you find it just as entertaining.
Who Are You has two meanings in the performance.
First, of course, is the Fake Love message, where they say that we pretend to be someone else when we want to charm somebody, and in the end, we lose ourselves. This has been spoken about a million times before. Jungkook is looking at them, and all of them are wearing masks, so he can’t even tell who is who. They’ve lost themselves to the Fake Love in the BU.
But then, why perform Airplane pt. 2 (which focuses majorly on their stardom)? Why bring the Dope Taehyung back? Why showcase the recorded scenes from their past performances? The cheers, the final bows? Why Idol? [spoiler: definitely not because it’s the title track of the latest album]
The second meaning of Who Are You goes as following: who are you, an international star or yourself? Are you even you without your stage persona?
This is a phenomenon that has been discussed by some academics in the artist management field. In short, we shape our image of ourselves using the natural reflectors – our friends, family, and the crazy cat lady in the neighborhood. By comparing ourselves to them (even without realizing it), we learn who we are.
A touring artist, however, is constantly influenced by a set of artificial reflectors – their media presence, the way they are viewed by their fans or haters, promotional videos, posters, billboards, charts, articles, stage personas. The human brain works in mysterious ways*. Apparently, it gets confused, and the sense of personal identity may slip away if the artist doesn’t have any other social roles aside from being on-stage. Which, in turn, brings along the insecurities, unstable moods, and other psychological problems, but we’re not here to discuss this. We’re here to discuss the sense of identity.
Basically, Namjoon has hinted it to us in Airplane pt. 2: “Who should I live as today, Kim Namjoon or RM?” I believe this means that at least he knows the difference between his stage persona and his ‘personal persona’ (is this even an expression?). Which doesn’t mean that all artists do.
Idol and Airplane pt.2 (and Dope, while we’re at it) both are focused on the fact that they are stars. These performances, however, are bright and sparkling and whatnot; and Idol, frankly, is a gentle reminder to the rest of the world that they are still goddamn idols, and they realize it and they’re not westernized, thank you very much. This, combined with the glooming darkish atmosphere of Fake Love, and the Who Are You message, and the extracts from their past performances, and the fact that touring artist is more than likely to stare at the mirror and ask themselves “Who the hell are you?”, made me think about something.
Perhaps, among all other things, they are telling us about the youth spent as an idol. They are telling us about their ‘artist’ feelings through metaphors, by using the ‘normal’ world to convey the message. They’re not talking about Youth in general, because frankly, ‘youth’ is a topic too broad and too cheesy.
They’re talking about idol youth. Which includes this question – “who are you?”.
.
This is it, now I need to recharge with caffeine and come back to the fictional analysis, see you in a couple of hours. Hit me up here or on twt @/butheories if you have any question or just need to tell me that my sense of humor is shit. See ya.
* As this is not an academic paper, I don’t want to go into the depths of my computer and retrieve the study, but I might do so if someone is greatly interested in getting references. I don’t even know where I stored it, honestly.
