MAP OF HEART : self-love.
a walkthrough behind the lyrics of self loving.
my #WordsByBangtan monthly event entry.
the shape of heart: self love isn’t linear. we first go downwards into the pit of ourselves, going through thoughts and hatred, taking wrong paths to realize which one we are to deserve, an epiphany that shapes us to love and accept ourselves; until the arrival, the answer.
the first stage of our heart shape is the first bending downwards to observe the depths of ourselves, the reflection namjoon speaks about that can be caught by looking down on the Han River, whenever he gets absorbed in his own being. we meet who is the us to reach the loving of.
the second stage is the first trial of choosing a path that turns out to be wrong, the fake loving. in their words, we can recognize the act of looking back at that reflection, unable to recognize the own being as fake self love, is an erasure of self, neglecting to be perfect.
the stage is at the bottom of the pit of self discovering, turning point when the right path of self loving is taken. as jin sings, the mask of the “fake love” fell, we are the one we should love, with imperfections, perfections unnoticed to adapt to a surreal perfection.
the rising point is the true shape of love that shapes us into loving beings. as namjoon outlines, love that is true and love that comprehends the human, accepts the nature, approaching and embraces its sharpness to mild, gently rough them until turning into beings of love.
the last stage, we have reached our answer. loving ourselves means also to love when we weren't able to rightfully, when we got the wrong loving, when we have visited the wrong paths, not to conform to fake beauty but to find in our own being the reasons, the true self love.
the voyage is completed, the shape of heart has been rounded and has taken place. it might be repeating itself, it might be a constant cycle of rewriting the same path loving shaped.
