Cynicism within modern Christianity.

The below has always been the sort of thing that pisses me off about evangelical culture in America.  Whenever I mention the horrors and persecution that has been done in the name of God, and specifically, within Christianity, some over-privileged white kid tells me that my experiences made me cynical and bitter.  When I proceed to ask them for an example of what situation I can go through that would show me the errors of the so-called "Church" and not make me cynical in their eyes, they are unable to do so.  It's a lose/lose argument with a bunch of brainwashed sheep.
