Hey Celimene! Often times, people realize that they have made mistakes. But that is ok, everyone does! Alceste took your betrayal harshly and inflicted lots of self-damaging verbal abuse on himself and his peers…I had already suggested he move on.

Should it be saved?

Relationships commonly end due to infidelity and it's painful especially when a couple has been together for a long time. People do stupid things sometimes because they think about their own personal interests. A relationship can be saved with kindness and consideration, but if the couple has opposing interests then it would be very hard to mend the relationship. 

Reproach me freely, call me what you will; you've every right to say I've used you ill. I've wronged you, I confess it; and in my shame I'll make no effort to escape the blame. (Act 5 Scene 7) I still have hope for our relationship Alceste alcestethyhater even though I did some pretty stupid and unforgivable things. I'm sure we can work something out, but I REALLY can't live in the middle of nowhere...
