- How are you feeling? - Better now that you are here. - I missed you. - I missed you, too.
"don't advertise tactical opportunism as pious morality, because that's when you lose me."
Discussion time: You’ve been told a sandwich is going to appear 3 months from now. What kind of sandwich are you hoping shows up?
Gordon: So Captain I have some news.
Ed: What is it?
Gordon: Well remember when you told me not to burn down the ship?
Ed: Oh my God, you burned down the Orville?!?!
Gordon: What no, Lamarr and I put out the fire almost immediately. This is a success story.
Sometimes a family is 2 gay dad's, their trans daughter, and female coworker. Sometimes it's a doctor, her 2 sons, and a robot. Sometimes it's a captain, the leader of a people he's at war with and their daughter. Family's are diverse!
All three seasons of The Orville will be on Disney+ come August 2022, as announced at the SDCC panel. If you haven’t been able to watch because you don’t have Hulu, get ready to tune in!
Early in the episode I was wondering if Dolly Parton knows about The Orville and thinking someone should tell/ask her about it.
I think it’s safe to say she knows.
More. Loving. Pon. Farr. In. Fic. I know we all love the out of control, dangerous Pon Farr scenario, where Spock is downright dangerous. But I would love to see in stories where he’s in a stable relationship where Pon Farr is treated between the couple like an intimate experience that can actually be enjoyed as a time of deep closeness not normally allowed in Vulcan society.
So I know when we think of Pon Farr we think of “Amok Time”. But remember: This is Spock’s first Pon Farr and he doesn’t havea good relationship with T’Pring.
I think a better example of a Pon Farr in an established relationship would be Tuvok’s (if we cut out the bit where he tried to stave it off and it wasn’t actually his wife but a hologram). Tuvok doesn’t want anyone on the ship to know, but when he’s actually with his (holographic) wife, it is passionate and romantic.
I truly believe that Pon Farr, between an established couple that trusts and loves one another can be a beautiful time that they well enjoy in the moment and that’s why they don’t speak about it.
I would totally be down for a “Lower Decks” style episode of The Orville.
The Orville S1E07
The Orville crew encounters a planet similar to Earth in many aspects, with the exception that there is no law, judge, jury or lawyer.
The society is governed by Majority Rule whereby the citizen’s voices and opinions dictates whether someone is guilty or not.
Alleged “wrongdoers” are arrested based on numbers of “upvotes” and “downvotes” that they had received from the public.
The “wrongdoers” are brought into a public forum for final judgement by the citizens before they are sent for “corrective” punishment.
We need More men Like Ed Mercer, to tell dipshits to shut the hell up.
Fox Orville VS Hulu Orville ; the bridge analysis
The bridge has changed, gone are the familiar secondary theme replaced by the light gray. The familiar theme can be seen echoing on in the distance in the hallway leading to the bridge, every piece of the ship is where it ought to be, there's plenty of light to be spared, it's all quite transparent showing off it's interior with the light.
The Navigation and Pilot console has changed, gone is the gap that would be there in the form of a outline with the same color of the console instead of the blue glowing theme. The chairs are different, although, the echoes of TNG with the wooden beam is there in the form of what is it behind or beside the chairs? Not just the subtitle, New Horizons, giving that feel. OH WAIT, nevermind, that was always there, but it looks like, it too, was given a upgrade!
It's almost like seeing a old friend from years ago, with a new look, a new do, ready to come back for a feature film and so excited to bring you along for the ride and you want to excitedly follow them along.
The top of the ship, the dome, hasn't changed drastically, same theme, same design, a charm of the USS Orville. Things have changed for the Orville but not the soul of it still embedded in every inch of the renovation.
