i think the worst thing about the whole “anti-woke” culture is how it’s not only dumbing down people (folks are literally forgetting pronouns are an actual word class, an inseperable part of grammar and everyday speech) but also praising meanness and insensibility above all. it has managed to make malice and unkindness synonymous with factfulness and reason as if intelligence didn’t stem from emotions. as if feelings weren’t the very core of human beings. as if knowledge wasn’t achieved through passion, sympathy, and open-mindedness. as if the whole crux of this entire anti-wokeness movement wasn’t rooted in pure unadulterated emotion of hatred and hostility.

okay, i rarely post on here bc i’m more active on twitter on but i gotta say a few things.

one: there is so much fucking shit around bucktaylor and buddie, which would’ve be fine but it’s gone too fucking far. i’ve had moots get death threats, and someone got doxxed today, all because they ship bucktaylor. the account followed a bunch of bucktaylor shippers, (including myself), with the intention of doxxing them; this is beyond fucked up. it’s a fictional ship. i hope whoever that was, realised what they’ve fucking done because many of them are minors. there are real people behind those accounts. get over yourselves, it’s a fictional ship with fictional people.

two: the need to villainise a character, whether it be ana, taylor or any female love interest that either buck or eddie have. you literally do not have to do that, you don't like them? fine, just write an amicable break up scene and let buddie have their happily ever after. there is literally an Ana Flores bashing (9-1-1 TV) tag on ao3, this fandom is so fucking misogynistic, get over yourselves.

three: still seeing shit here about oliver and the whole shit that happened on twitter. oliver is a grown ass man. he was not tagged on that tweet, there was no mention of 9-1-1 on the tweet, so he willingly looked it up and chose interact with it. and i understand that bullying is awful and can genuinely harm people, but what that account did was not bullying. it was a joke. this isn’t the first time that he’s done something like this, he's literally known on stan twitter to go pick fights with accounts and then have a fucking meltdown once he gets called out and deactivate only to come back later and pretend like nothing happened. i understand that you guys like him here, but that man has a victim complex the size of fucking texas.
