Melbourne Day 4 - Brunch at The Hardware Societe
This brunch spot is probably one of the most visited in Melbourne, and for good reason. After an hour-ish wait in the cold rainy drizzle, we were seated inside a cheerful, cozy little cafe that was packed with people. I would have ordered everything on the menu but managed to settle on their baked egg with chorizo sausage, potato, piquillo peppers, queso mahon, toasted almonds and alioli, accompanied by a French lavender cold pressed juice with apple, banana and blueberry. Phew. I would definitely recommend that anyone visiting the Melbourne CBD should visit this spot!
Melbourne day 3 - Breakfast at the European
An elegant and traditional cafe on Spring street. For my first meal of the day I had their gluten-free banana bread with vanilla cream and blueberries. (It was as good as it looks).
Dinner with a view - at Naked for Satan
A venue with a beautiful view overlooking the night cityscape, a buzzing atmosphere, great wait staff and a pretty damn good menu. Inspired by Basque cuisine, they offer a range of "traditional peasant comfort food." Not to say that the food was lacking; we indulged ourselves with hazelnut and cracked wheat salad, beef tartare amongst other dishes (which I sadly can't recall the name of). Pretty fancy stuff.
Dessert for lunch, all day everyday.
