You are like the rock that the water breaks upon,
When it splits and sputters into tears,
Tossed in all directions,
Spattering upon the impact
Of your immovability.
Your stoic, self-preservation against any languid and unchaste love,
One cannot tether to,
To you, one cannot cleave,
For unabsorbed are you of such feeble attempts to erode your defenses
Designed to charm you into self-reduction
And ease you into a flippancy
Of lukewarm, lurid attachment.
And that is why they, like the perpetually returning waters,
Endlessly cast upon many a strong place,
No matter how many tides of escape,
Tear them away
In rips and divets
That disperse aimlessly,
Devoid of a deeper currents, channeling truer purposes,
Try as they may do to leave you,
None truly walk away.
