❛ the little one is quite active today.❜
Gaston smiled as he cleaned the dishes form breakfast, “Well, they have your energy, darling.”
She stayed in her chair, turning to face Gaston. This was the man she idolized and she was pregnant with his child. The man she and her sisters would fight over. Claudia smiled at that statement, rubbing her stomach.
“No. It’s your energy I’m sure. Has to be Obviously the child of a hunter.”
“No, the child of two no-nonsense type people,” He said, as he put the last plate he was cleaning away. He walked over to Claudia, and kissed her cheek.
She pushed her swollen body up from the chair and gave Gaston a soft, chaste kiss.
“Either way I’m glad it’s not triplets like me and my sisters. With how strong this one is I’d be on the ground with three,” she laughed. “Thanks for taking care of dishes. You’ve been taking such good care of me.”
“Anything for you, ma cher.”
“I’ll have to pay you back for your kindness. And don’t say I’m doing so by being pregnant with our little Diana or Narcisse.”
“Claudia, you’re my wife. I love you. If I were sick, you’d take care of me. It applies in reverse. Don’t ever think that you having my child is doing me a kindness.”
“I suppose you’re right,” she had a large smile. Even if they had been married a while she still couldn’t get over hearing it. Claudia Legume. “Now. What should we do today darling? We have less than a week before the baby is due, must be something you want to do!”
“I was thinking we could go on a romantic picnic,” He suggested.
“A romantic picnic? Darling we just finished breakfast, but… I can never turn down you being romantic,” she giggled. “Considering it took so many years to even get you to look in my direction.”
“We can’t exactly go to the movies or to an amusement park or the zoo, Claudia,” He said, “But maybe an art museum will do.”
“That could work. Actually, the doctor heavily recommends walking to induce labor so the museum sounds nice. It’ll be quiet, lots of places to sit, and a little culture is always good. Belle always said I could do that with a book but I prefer artwork.”
“Good. Because I got us tickets for the museum in the city,” He said, smiling, “I mean, you could always read a comic book or a graphic novel, but art museums have more depth to them.”
“They really do. It’s an interesting way to get into a creator’s mind and can be such an emotional experience without words,” Claudia kissed her husband then turned to the bedroom. “I’ll get dressed and then we can head out.”
“Good, okay. Bring the hospital bag with you, when you’re done getting dressed. Best be prepared since you’re so close to your due date, ma cher.”
“Vrais,” Claudia walked off, returning with her hair tied back with her signature red bow, dress and black flats. 9 months pregnant but she wasn’t giving up her style. “I’m ready when you are darling.”
