You know what? No. No, I do not think that girl is as beautiful as the woman on the right. And before you social justice bloggers come stampeding into my askbox, wondering how I could be such a heartless, bitch- hear me out.
The girl on the left isn’t beautiful. The girl on the left does not have flawless skin, or blonde hair, or baby-blue eyes or a pair of double-d’s. What she is, however, is sick. And telling her that she’s beautiful as an attempt to comfort her? Is just plain cruel.
You’re telling her that she’s only redeemable when she’s beautiful. You don’t give a damn about her illness, no. You just want to sleep at night, thinking what a great person you are for lying to a little girl. Do you think that girl believes she is truly, in the eyes of society, beautiful? She doesn’t. And I dare someone to look me in the eyes and say she’s wrong. We all know she’s not beautiful, but we tell her otherwise, tell ourselves otherwise because we feel guilty and we think that, by “saving” this poor, ill child with false claims of beauty, we are better people because of it.
That girl is beautiful because she is fighting. She’s beautiful because she isn’t beautiful, not in all the physical ways we obsess over. She’s beautiful because of her personality- and that is why her’s is a life worth living.
Not because some stranger on the internet lied, and told her she’s “beautiful”.
THANK YOU.

i do subscribe to the notion that everything we do all our accomplishments are only as lasting as writting on water something that at best one day be vaguely remembered as the idea that sparked the inspiration for something more. over and over generation after generation that is out cycle and our way, to move on at a constant pace. and people seem to understand that. but we don't seem to remember the domino effect. we don't seem to remember the actions we choose and choices we make play a role in how the future will turn out whether it be a minute from now or a life time of millennial in the future the words we say and choices we make will effect the next wave of people again and again sociologically emotionally psychologically we lay out the pattern for the next society and were not fools we have to see on some level what were doing when we draw out patterns of destruction for people to fall into as we have fallen into in the past we have to know the trauma that lies ahead if we continue on in this world the way we do angry and cruel hurting one another stealing making our own lives hellish and horrible from one another allowing rage and vendettas consume us whole until we've left behind shell of who we've used to be and expect the next generation of children to fill those shells wholeheartedly we know somewhere inside that its time to stop and end this madness we've fallen into because even if everything we do may just be a shout into the void and yell into the never space the continuing echo will branch out and effect everyone to come but instead of stopping this chaos we lay out so well as we have before we stand here afraid terrified to even pull at the threads of society afraid to unravel the fabric and be left with the task of putting it all together again in a way that works we stand here afraid of what might lie ahead if we change because at least the chaos is predictable right? were more willing to fall in line and fall into our roles because the thought of falling out of order and not knowing where we may land is scary and i won't tell you i"m always exempt from this angry hurtful behavior like i'm some sort of angel because then i'd just be lying but i can't just sit still so quietly when i see such terrible things in this world i'm tired of it taking generation after generation of stupidity and cruelty to make one group of people think and i'd like to make such stupidity end here because even if this generation is just a shout into the never space our echo is loud and will effect so many more to come and i just can't handle the idea of our echo being one of the same oppressive cruelty we've heard before. i'd ask that you re-blog this so maybe one person can see it and attitude can change just a little.
What is it with Steven Moffat and apples?
If silence will fall when the question asked then will someone ask the fucking question already and make my mother shut the hell up
